In 2020 we bought blinds for our entire house. There was a issue with one of our blinds fitting and it had to be redone, the installer told us that it would not cost anything and due to the issues we had the window would be free. After install was completed we were hit with a *** charge for the window. After speaking with the manager multiple times, I'm they offered to take a *** off. I didn't agree due to the service I had and what I was told and agreed too. We came to an agreement that budget blinds would take the hit of the cost. Fast forward to now, we need to have our blinds removed for new windows and I called BB to do so. They said they will not remove them until we paid a *** balance left on our account. After trying to get it resolved, the manager would not speak to me and tried to played monkey in the middle with the receptionist and saying I still owed ***. I was told that it was going to be taken care of and I didn't owe anything and now they are saying I do. I tried to contact budget blinds locally and they have not responded so that is why I'm filing this complaint.Business response

Business Response /* (***0, 5, 2022/08/15) */ This customer placed an order under the name Melvyn B on November 21, 2019 for 18 shutters. At the installation on 2/3/20 it was discovered that one shutter was too big. The installer subtracted $*** off the balance due that day and collected the balance for the shutters that were installed as per our policy. We ordered the remake and went back out to install it on 3/20/20. After it was complete, Melvyn refused to pay the $*** balance due. He claims the installer discounted the amount due and he no longer owed that amount. I (Office Manager) called him to explain it was only held back until install was complete, and I gave him $*** off the balance due for the confusion. Mistakes do occasionally happen, but we corrected it right away. We incurred costs both times the shutter was ordered. He still refused to pay it. I have long notes about our many conversations if you would like more detail. Consumer Response /* (***0, 7, 2022/08/18) */ (The consumer indicated he/she DID NOT accept the response from the business.) I refused to pay due to what I was promised. My refusal to pay conversations with the manager is what led to BB deciding to eat the cost. I would not have left the conversation or situated unpaid with a balance on my account if I wasn't under the impression the balance would have been waived Business Response /* (***0, 9, 2022/08/22) */ Yes, you expressed that "the cost of doing business is to just eat it sometimes" in 2020. I agreed that $*** wasn't an amount we'd go to small claims court over. The balance due remained on your account with a note to not service if that amount is not paid. All the shutters you ordered are installed in your home. Budget Blinds executed our end of the contract. At the time of install completion, the balance is due to be paid in full.
