On August 28th, around 7:30PM, at the request of my wife, me and my youngest daughter, I an 11-year-old minor, went to the Foodtown in *************** in ***************, **. After picking out the items and cashing out, I informed my daughter that I needed to use the bathroom and advised that she wait for me by the bathroom door, and not to move. While in the bathroom, I heard a male voice ask her to go to the front of the store, my daughter responded that she as waiting for her father at the bathroom, and the man still asked her to move. I ran out the bathroom and witnessed it was security guard. I asked the guard, why would he address a minor while she is waiting on her parent? At this point, the security guard became quite indignant and responded that unless I'm going to pay for his salary, don't tell him how to do his job. I responded again by saying, as an adult, you should not address a minor and ask them to leave an area where they have been advised to wait. I told him, he should have waited to address me, not a minor. he then stated that we will now consider me trespassing, and we needed to leave the store because he can handcuff me and my daughter right now." At this point my daughter was visibly frightened and I proceeded to leave. As we are leaving, the security guard was behind me, yelling profanities and telling me that I was banned from the store. When we got outside his last words were "Don't come back because you will have to deal with me motherfucker!" In all my existence in retail, I have never been accosted or berated by any security guards, nor has my child ever witnessed such behavior from someone who is supposed-to-be a professional. I've been shopping at Publix and ******************* since moving in South ******* and have never had an experience like this. I would assume that someone who is carrying a firearm and appears to have some form of authority would exercise more ******** in dealing with minors and customers in general.Business response

Kindly accept the delay in response as we were completing the investigation regarding this matter. After reviewing video surveillance and interviewing witnesses, Foodtown was unable to confirm the allegations. Foodtown uses an outside vendor for security services. In abundance of caution, Foodtown has requested the security company to assign different security staff to the store. It is never our intention to make minors or any customers feel unsafe or to be harassed in any manner.
