Total amount we paid out to ************************* was $44,350. He claimed to be a licensed contractor owner of Red Star Renovations LLC. He gave us an estimate to remodel and we hired him. Then he got us in contact with **** from Omni Pro America, to get started. The first $500 deposit was paid to Omni Pro via Zelle 08/17. Fast forward to today, we contacted **** Pro and they said ****** pushed them for refund to go to him. We asked ****** if we would get refunded the money, and he stated it went to him because he would use the money for a new architect, *************************. ***** did not want to do the house plans until he was paid. ****** also got a concrete estimate from ****, and said it would be about $6000. ****** then says that **** said the new total is $18,000. ****** said we have to pay him cash to begin ordering the material. We went to his address and paid $9000 in cash. He then lied and said to pay the rest, because the concrete was going to get put soon. He claimed **** wanted it made out to him (*************************). ****** then writes a receipt on behalf of ***** business. Recently, **** stated he was not aware of the 18k and only received $6000 from ******. ****** then asked us to pay him $1500 for a dump trailer he had to purchase, because we needed to demolish. He said he worked with *************************. He claimed ***** owned a demolition company. He then says that he paid ***** $14,000 and we must pay him back. Not only was no demolition work done, but ***** stated that he does not own a demo business. We warned him that ************************* is doing business under his name and requesting payments. On 9/11, ****** called and told us he put in ALL the permits. That he paid out of pocket $5600. He said that it was all under his license, and we owe the rest as soon as possible. We paid $600 that day then $3500 on 11/15. He wanted more money, but we told him that we do not see permits on the site. We said we did not want to continue and we have been battling with him for a refund.
