Worst company we ever dealt with. We requested for maintenance service and it took them forever to come. The customer service were a nightmare. I will not recommend renting from thus company.Review from Audra V

Nightmare do not rent from them!! On our lease agreement it says that we would receive a checklist of previous damages done to the home so that we could check off ones we saw and. Or get charged for them. I tried for four months straight to get this list and they said eventually that they didnt have one. We had a dead tree in the front yard we asked them to remove. They never removed it and it fell on my brothers car during a hurricane. And they said oh it was an act from God. The power in my sons room went out And we found out it was due to faulty wiring. The maintenance technician took the outlet off and looked in the wall and touch the wires and it arched. We contacted them for over a month to fix it and they kept sending vendors out but there they did not fix it. We moved out and we still had no power in that room. When you call their customer service, everyone reads from a script and they push you around from person to person with no one giving you answers. I guarantee you if you have an issue, they will say we will forward this to the local property management office and someone will contact you and they never will and if they do its only an email to shove off your complaint and not address it. All of their calls Are outsourced and no one in the ************* contacts you. After calling and leaving emails consistently for a month, a property manager finally contacted me and said oh I wasnt even aware you had no power. This doesnt qualify for uninhabitable discount. Even though the wires were in the wall and started fire. I spent weeks deep cleaning this home and left it better than we got it and Im And Im sure after reading the reviews that they will find charges to take our security deposit. Do not rent from Firstkey homes. Unless you want horrible customer service, repairs not being made, No care or consideration, High utility bills and no promptness on addressing issues.Review from Peter H

Im so grateful that I read reviews and checked the BBB site for First Key Homes before even signing a lease. The experience we had with them was nothing short of exhausting and frustrating from the beginning. They seemed disorganized, and we constantly felt like we were getting the runaround. After submitting all required documents, they would repeatedly tell us they didnt have them, even though we had proof. Not once did we have a dedicated account repeach time we reached out, we spoke to someone new who had no context for our situation. This inconsistency led to us spending hours on the phone, repeatedly explaining our case.During the week leading up to approval, the treatment we received was horrible. I made it a point to document every single interaction and conversation because it felt like we were getting jerked around at every turn. When we finally got approved, the last thing we wanted was to move forward with the lease because of how poorly wed already been treated. But instead of a seamless process, we were bombarded with calls from First Key Homes up until the lease expired, adding even more stress to an already negative experience.Once we saw their priorities in action, it became clear they were solely focused on money, not on providing a good experience or quality service. They offered no clear answers on whether the property was move-in ready or if needed repairs would be addressed. When we asked if any maintenance or fixes would be completed before move-in, they said it was on the agenda but couldnt confirm anything. This lack of transparency and accountability was extremely discouraging.I would absolutely not recommend First Key Homes to anyone. This was the worst property management experience Ive ever encountered. If I could sue them based on the treatment we received before even getting approved, I would. Do yourself a favor and steer clear of First Key Homesthey are not worth the hassle or the stress.Review from Robert G

FirstKey accepts app, sign lease take your deposit & rent then on move in day they say the property is not ready to occupy. Then they push you toward more expensive properties Buyer beware this is a company that does operate in good faith. It leases homes you might not be able to move into. Now I am forced to rent from them bc they have my deposit and rent $ and don't have to legally give back for 15 days. If I had extra $ I would happily go to their competitor bc this is a company I wish I did not have to deal with. The customer service is terrible, they had zero interest in helping me. I can currently trying to more to a more expensive home LOCKED in for 12 mths.Review from Kimberly G

If I could give FirstKey zero stars, I would've! Because FirstKey includes utilities, we have been stuck with a $800 utility bill, when our bill has been $375 since we've lived here! This economy is trash right now, and to have an extra $400 to go to a water bill that clearly has been misread, is crazy! Our bill for this month went back down to its normal rate, and yet FirstKey says there's nothing they can do! Shame on you all! Definitely will not be renewing our lease!Review from Ma G

This company is a nightmare!!! Rented from them for 3 years. Terrible customer care and support. Moved out at the end of the lease. Company made up a bunch of false charges to deduct from my security deposit. Then mailed out a summary of the charges and deduct add the check to the envelope. Now they telling me it was lost in the mail (which is a lie. It was never attached in the envelope sent) its been almost two months since my lease ended and I moved. I just want my deposit and to NEVER have to deal with these criminals again.Review from Zack C

Absolutely terrible experience. Maintenance was tough to come by. Utilities bills are outrageous (was paying average of around $500/mo for water, electric, etc.) when moved into new home which is larger im now only paying $125 for the same. Upon our early termination from purchasing said new home, we knew a fee would be assessed but not in the egregious amount thay we were invoiced. They charges $200 to rip out flowers from the front of the house, mind you these were birds of paradise they had planted prior to our lease and we spent countless hours maintaining throughout our 2 years as renters. Our utilities bills for the month that we were using to transition to living in our new home were $347 higher than the previous month when we had lived there full time. The only time we used the home during the final month was to paint walls as requested and clean up. No water was used at all yet still a massive charge. They then proceeded to send the physical invoice to an incorrect address due to their own clerical error and gave me 72 hours notice via email. This company is an absolute scam and if anyone reads this heed my words and the words of 99% of all online reviews. If a class action lawsuit were to develop id be a huge advocate for it. PS this is the only time I have ever felt the need to post any sort of review for any company but felt obliged to reach out and make sure that maybe someone will read this and not make the same mistake I did.Review from Kim B

Let me just start by saying my experience with ****** ******** at First Key Homes was superior. ****** was able to answer all my questions in a timely manner as well as returning all my calls. She is through and precise. In a world that lacks ***************** ****** provided Top Notch customer service .
