Complaint Against AAMCO ***************************************************************** ************** I Spoke to ****** of on 8-18-24 about towing the car to their location. After arriving I filed out a customer information form. No company name/logo or stipulations on it. A brief description of the car's issues was added. (Valve body cracked and possible new transmission wiring harness needed) I was told I would receive a call. The 1st call from ****** described the "diagnostic" read out. I asked if the oil pan was pulled to confirm the valve body crack. The answer was no. He said the rebuild of the trans would be $996 plus the amount of any other things seen. Also said an estimate would be sent. Later an estimate of $6,560 was sent! Before the estimate was sent I mentioned that a running model of the same year was $4000 blue book. When I said put it back together, his response was, "the $996 would now have to be cash"! I told him there was no contractual or verbal agreements on cash at any time! When the work "was" going to be done I mentioned I would have to see which credit card I would use. ******'s response was that they have financing. "******" claims they have that right to request ****. This is without the showing of signs, wording in a contract or any mentioning beforehand. Claims he has verbal "items" said by me but if so, I am very careful with my wording of answers and questions. I told him it was never mentioned and I did not agree to anything like that. In ********** both parties must agree that a phone conversation is to be recorded. Sounds like an avoidance of a paper trail. Knowing the estimate of $6,500 was an obscene price was part of the scam. If the person went for it then it was way overpriced. If they didn't, then the "bait" price of $996 they would get for pretty much part of the scam! This establishment should be looked into. I don't think his past customers do **************************** but post negative feedback on a web page. ********************* ************

Paid for a rebuilt transmission a tune up and axles replaced. They told me the car was in perfect condition after all this has been performed on the car. I received the car on a Friday and put in reverse to take it home and a hard noise sounded when I put the car in reverse. I went inside to talk to the mechanic and he said if it didnt go away in 500-1000 miles to come back. The next time I drove the car for 5 minutes and it made a loud noise 3 times while driving it in drive. Also, when I picked up the car it had no air in the tires they were in air 22 and its an suv supposed to be in 35. They didnt notice this detail while they drove it to test drive it.now the car is with them again. I dont have a screenshot of the third receipt they never send it to me through text like I asked them too they only send me two receipts through text

Now the transmission mounts have bolts have backed out and the transmission has dropped on the cv axle and almost killed my girlfriend. The local aamco is now permanently closed and where am I supposed to go for warranty work or some kind of compensation?

My 2005 ***** crv awd went in last year for clutch replacement and flywheel repair. After i picked up car 2nd gear was damaged and didnt work. It worked fine before i brought it in. Talked to the owner at the ********* ** locating and they arent accepting fault. Talked to corperate and they refuse to pay for the mistake. All aamco locations are franchise owned and they refuse to pay when the franchise owner says its not there fault no mattar what. Which is not right. Was working fine until i brought it into the shop. So they messed up something and wonr admit fault. I want my 2nd gear fixed in my car and if u didnt know 2nd gear in a manual transmission car is the power gear so u kinda need it.

RESPONSE REQUESTED ASAP Subject: 2010 Silver Santa *** ******************************* Location, ****,******* ?This makes absolutely no sense. Why would AAMCO pull it out, they can run diagnostic without pulling it outplaces do that to older people and people that dont know much about cars to try and get them stuck with them fixing it. Told them to put it back in the way I dropped it off. Did not sign any paperwork to approve.Mechanic shops are shady like that if your transmission was still good and they pulled it out, they will swap it out with a bad transmission Then turn around and sell yours or if you decide to go with them they will basically clean it up and put it back in and sell you your old transmission So before they do anything to your vehicle, they have to call you and let you know what they are doing to it. I did not sign any forms, as other AAMCO locations require a signature. They cant just start doing s*** and then charge you for it so now theyre gonna put either your transmission back in and put all new fluids and its gonna run perfect or they are going to find a broken a** transmission put it in there and its not gonna leave their shop. Are they going to try to charge a s*** ton of money because they basically did a free transmission service. Iv talked to them twice, told them I dont have the money. Can you please put it back the way it was when I drove it in. I should be able to drive it out for free. Not $800.00 for a service not completed.Need vehicle moved from the back lot to the side lot as soon as possible. If its not drivable, which it probably is not, I will call AAA to meet me there, to tow out of there.AAMCO cannot hold my vehicle. Please contact this AAMCO location and ensure me that it has been moved. No charge billing. Thank you.*********************** ************

AAmco over charged me for a diagnostic that they claim they did. And they claim they sent information into this warranty I have. When the *************** denied my claim to pay up to ****** for a diagnostic then Aamco decided to take advantage of an disable woman who had to take part of her rent money to pay ****** to Aamco. The only reason why Aamco had my car in the first place was because the *************** refused me to take it to ****** dealership where they charge only ****** dollars for a diagnostic. AAmco owner **** was very obnoxious, racist and mean towards me and hurt and Insulted me. The owner demanded me to come now and pay me and get your car off my lot because it's taken room for my paying customers who will need my services. I was very hurt and disappointed by the owner and the manager **** double insulted me by saying just give me ****** and keep the change. However, when I said to Mark you all know if the *************** would had not denied my claim then you all would have not been paid what you just charged me. Then **** said of course we know that. Very unethical shady and unprofessional practice and I demand my money back please.

I towed my car to Aamco ******, ** ***** on 1/11/24 when they were closed. I got a call from a lady in the office and gave her concise details being that I worked in car repair in ****** for 7yrs sending many vehicle to aamco for transmission diagnostic. Knowing I must find out the issue and talking to ************ ONLY approved a diagnostic. I was told I needed a new transmission and was never given any type of estimate (even up to this point) written or verbal! I made it clear I didnt want to move forward until I exhausted my options which may include trading the vehicle or looking into my own financing IF I decided to do the repair! I turned down the option Aamco in-house financing as I found them ****** eager to let me know the payment dont matter and people pay what they can when they can. As a former service advisor I am smart enough to know that once they get approved for their work they are payed regardless and I the consumer have to deal with the ramifications on my credit and making payments for a repair so I knew what they were doing. Fast forward to 1/20/24 and after Ive already informed them Im talking to the wife to exhaust MY options with the vehicle theyve taken it upon themselves to do the repair I never approved. The lady calls me this morning saying the car is about done how am I paying when my question is who approved the work. The guy calls as he does every time I stop the lady from walking me into an unapproved sale like good cop/bad cop and says shes not saying its done theyre just test driving it. IE, SAME THING, who approved the work?! I live right next to this shop and I know its hard times the lots empty and techs dont make money when wrenches arent turning but this is beyond me; Im disgusted that I would make so clear how Im choosing if Im going to move forward and they decided to take it upon themselves do this work. Again Ive never once received a detailed estimate or breakdown or given any verbal approval for this work.
