My hot water heater broke causing water damage to the lower level of my home on ******** (this was a Friday evening) The company Restoration1 came to the home unbeknown to my husband misrepresenting themselves as being from the insurance company. Per my insurance agent ( on Monday ) not only was the company not sent to my home but they are not in their program. The company also came to the home the following day as well to dry floors and move furniture. I attempted to call insurance company but since it was weekend I did not get an answer. I requested a copy of contract when they arrived. I was told the contract was with other members of the team. I allowed the company to do work that was deem emergent due to the damage and after being promised I could have my property only having to give a 24 hour notice. There is a dispute with the contract and the company and myself has not continue doing business - I requested the return of my property that was removed. The company refuse to return property. I later found out later that the company received my information from the plumbing company. I was sent an invoice with inflated charges stating what needed to be paid to get my items. I disputed the charges and paid the appropriate amount, I sent a check for payment stating payment in full. The check was cashed ******** The company finally agreed to give me my property on ****** in the am, after I retrieved my property they would come to my home to pickup their property. When I arrived at the location to retrieved property they refused to give me my property. The company has fraudulent business practices they exploit individuals during their hardship. They is dishonest, they do unnecessary work charge the insurance company when the insurance refuse to pay the inflated charges they hold the homeowners liable and refuse to release their property
