Service asked for - Break Change and Rotors for front and back of vehicle. Date of Service- May 26th, 2023 @ 1:05pm Vehicle- **** ****** Matrix. I provided the automatic with both breaks and rotors for FRONT/BACK. Mechanic gave me a price of 110 for service of changing. Called @1:56 saying My break Arms Needed to be Replaced going to be $80 for front side only. I told him it was okay as long as it was necessary for Changing my breaks correctly. I arrived @5:53 to retrieve my vehicle. They ended up charging me 507 dollars for Break and Rotor Change. When I asked for an itemized receipt they denied me a receipt. I only have receipt of amount paid and bank statements. They would not have let me retrieve my car unless amount was paid even though I didnt feel satisfied at all with the work provided. They took advantage of the fact that I was a girl, and after talking to other members of the community, apparently its a common thing for Ventura Auto Parts to Wrongfully Charge an amount due to the fact that I am a female and do not have sufficient knowledge about auto mechanics. They did not change my back rotors because they said it was not the right part. Instead of calling me and telling me that it was not disks that needed to be changed, (Even though Auto-parts store said that it was the right part for my car) they went ahead and did a service I did not ask for and did not do a proper break change to my car. I can hear the LOUD screeching noise when I drive it, Tried filing a report to my local police ***** The officers said it sounds like metal on metal. Which leads me to believe that maybe they didnt even replace the break pads. The officers gave me your website page and told me to do a report this way. I hope that your agency can help me find a resolution to my problem. I should not have been charged 507 dollars for a simple Breaks and Rotors Change that was not done.

      Business response

Customer requested front and rear brake change, for her **** ****** Matrix. She mentioned her car was vibrating, and that her brakes were in need of replacing. We ran a diagnostics on the vehicle, which led us to the control arms that were worn out and a misfire on her engine. We replaced the ignition coil, control arms, and front brakes. She supplied us with the front brakes, but the rear brakes were drums and she brought in discs. We had to buy the control arms and an ignition coil in order to finish the job, and only charged $30 to maintenance her rear drums as they seemed fine and did not need replacing. As for the itemized bill, we were unable to provide a print out because of printer issues, but I attached a copy if needed.

Here is a breakdown of the charges:
$175 for both control arms, $62 for ignition coil, $55 for replacing front
brakes, $30 for inspection and cleaning of rear brakes, and $185 for the
labor involved in replacing the control arms and diagnostics of the
vehicle. This amounts to a total of $507.

******** returned shortly afterwards complaining about a noise, but that was resolved with the issue being her dust shield being loose and no further charges were issued. We do apologize if there was any miscommunication with how things were handled and we do our best to insure the safety of our customers. I have attached images of her old control arms, so she can see how badly they needed to be replaced.
