On August 11,2023 a cashiers check was given to *************************(Custom Home Upgrades LLC) for a bath remodel The agreement was to pay half of the $10,000 up front for the work. We gave him a cashier's check for $5000. After 7 days we noticed the work was not being completed in a timely manner with several flaws. The plumbing, tile work, and several other things were wrong with what they had completed so far. There were issues where they damaged our property. When the crew left that night we reached out to ******* to express our concern with their work. He ignored our phone calls & texts. The next morning the crew showed up but still no word from *******. We told the crew we didn't want them to continue and needed ******* to get in touch with us. After we sent the crew away ******* finally got in touch with us and said that he was catching at the airport flying to ****. He stated he wouldn't be back till Thursday evening. We told him that we didn't want that crew working on our house. He stated they were capable of doing the work up to our standards. I informed him we didn't agree with this but that he could meet with us when he arrived back in town to observe the issues himself. On Wednesday we met with another contractor who was able to point out several more issues that were wrong with the bathroom than we initially saw due to his professional experience. The other contractor pointed out that they hadn't plugged the drains so the septic fumes were coming up into the house which can be toxic and needed to be plugged right away. This explained all the symptoms we had been experiencing and why we were having to leave the house to stop feeling faint. We told him that we just wanted a refund of our money since the work wasn't even halfway completed & due to the property damage they caused. He refused stating he wasn't going to give us any of our money back. We had an attorney send a demand letter for a refund which went unanswered.
