A year ago we entered into a business contract to have our home built by Adonai Custom Estate / ***********************. He required a deposit (DPA) that would be applied to our final cost and then suggested we go ahead and pay for custom plans/engineering costs up front so the process would go "faster". After a year and multiple attempts requesting our plans for permitting, we finally got a PDF file of just the floor plan (no site plan, nothing we could submit for permitting, etc) and then he ghosted us. After multiple attempts of trying to contact him (he is in the Atlanta area and we live 4 hours away), we finally had to consult with a lawyer about breach of contract and fired him. 10K later we have plans we can't use and no contractor. After further investigation, this is not the first time he has done this to his clients.Initial Complaint

In 2021 I purchased a home hoping to building 2 tiny homes or additions to the property. I did a significant amount of research to find building companies that specialized in LICENSED and permitted work in that department and ended up reaching out to affinity building. The closest contractor they had in the area was *********************** with Adonai Custom Homes. I talked for months about budgets, floor plans, site plans, and zoning with ************** and his associates. He seemed knowledgeable about our particular needs. The contract we hired ****** to install plumbing and exterior electrical connections and permit and install an ADU. Our primary reasoning being we needed permitted and professional work done and wanted my future connections and our immediate needs met. I continued to work with ****** for my project of building an addition to the existing structure and moved forward to obtain financing. Once completed I signed a contract with him 6/10/21 with the expectation that this would only take 9 mth or a year at most.After years of delays, price gouging and lies we are unable to contact ****** to complete the project. There have been several times I've only been able to reach him after withholding payment. After which the project makes huge leaps in progress before he disappears for months with no word. When reach out there are empty promises of, I'll be there tomorrow. Permits have not been renewed, inspections missed, and we have had to go to court several times. Contractors do not want to continue a half-finished project, we have waited and argued for too long. Our fuses keep blowing due to poorly installed electrical work that he outsourced and then did not pay his contractor for causing a lien to be filed wrongly to me. We have water leaking in the basement that only started after he dug a trench in our yard. We have missed our ideal window for refinancing.
