On October 20, 2022 Berry Good Heating and Air sent out Technician ****** to check my heating system, as the heat was not turning on when the thermostat was turned on to 'heat' function.****** entered the attic, and then informed me that the gas valve was inoperable and would need to be replaced, for a cost of $1500 however his suggestion was to replace the entire furnace for $3000. I told him I would need to discuss with my husband prior to agreeing to either remedy. ****** then left my home, without going back into the attic.Due to the fact that the system is only 4 years old, we quickly got a 2nd opinion because replacement of the furnace seemed excessive. On Oct 21st, the gas valve was deemed working, just stuck. This was by another technician, who was under direct view of my husband the entire time he was in the attic. The heat then came on immediately. However, the heat would not turn off and continuously ran the entire night. On Oct 22nd, it was then discovered that ****** had put a jumper on the system, disconnecting the wiring the way it was set up and leaving it inoperable. Please note my husband has attested that the 2nd technician did not touch any of the wiring of the system while he assessed the gas valve.At this time, I called Berry Good Heating and they refunded me the fee I paid for ****** to come out, stating that since the gas valve was in fact working, his diagnostic was incorrect. They disagreed with me that the jumper he placed he could impact the system in any other way. However, my zone board is now not working and was in perfect working condition prior to ****** jumping the system.I would like Berry Good heating to replace my zone board as a direct result of ******'s actions. They have offered no explanation as to why he did not leave the system and all wiring in the same condition as he met it.
