I contracted Deep South Flooring to install hardwood flooring and tile for my elderly parents in their modest home. The home is located at ** ***** ********* ******, ********* ******* *****. There have been delays upon delays upon delays. We started this project in May 2021 and the work is not complete as of Dec 2021.Throughout the installation, ****** offered the following excuses for delays: His brother had a heart attack/One of his men injured his hand/The materials are backordered/Another job took longer than anticipated. I contacted the supplier myself, and they informed me that the materials are in stock and that they have not received an order from Deep South Flooring. Finally, the crew appeared to be approaching the finish line in June 2021 on the hardwood installation. After the numerous delays in July 2021, I informed ****** that we decided that we no longer needed tile installed by him as we had become frustrated with the delays for the hardwood, and did not want to have a repeat experience. When we canceled the tile work in July 2021, the hardwood work was still not complete. The transitions still needed to be completed. During the last stage of the installation in July 2021 which involved installing transitions, his crew discovered that most of the flooring installed by the previous crew would have to be lifted up as the flooring is not leveled and there are gaps. Therefore, when it rains water and moisture will seep in and this can cause mildew. The crew called ******, and told him this. Simply put, the last crew had done a bad job. I appreciated the crew sharing this information with my family, as this would compromise the investment. My family noticed a significant number of spots throughout the house that were not installed properly. Since this encounter in late July 2021, we have been back and forth with ****** about when the flooring would be fixed. It is December 2021, and ****** is still unable to tell me when he plans to finish this job.
