We Paid **** ***** **** deposit on a litter due *** ****. With the remaining ***** due at pick up. I drove to Georgia from Florida to find that our “first pick” puppy only weighed * *** at * ****s which is what they weigh at birth. This resulted in me driving home with a very ill dog and taking her to emergency vet where they didn’t believe she would Live. I was told we could bring her back but at that point I was vested in saving this dogs life. I remained in contact where they promised to reimburse me the amount of the dog via text however only covered $*** of a vet bill. She is 10 months old now but the size of a small border collie because she was so malnourished in early formative growth. I have multiple vet bills, letters from the vet about the state of her being covered and stained in urine and near death. As well as ongoing supplementation and high protein and fat diet she requires to help her growth plates form properly she her joints are extremely knobby. They claim they knew she had worms, needed supplementation but never provided her with additional supplementation. In total I spent ***** on a very very ill dog that I have now spent months attempting to get to a healthy weight but will never grow beyond her shortened stature . As I have another Bernard she looks to be about 4 months old at 10 months. Their breeding and caring for their young puppies or at least my puppy was irresponsible. As a responsible breeder they had a duty to care for her , or not send her to a home in the condition she was in. Vet visits were provided and although we were promised a refund ultimately they cut off contact. By creating this BBB account I am hoping both they handle the situation properly but also do better in their breeding practices. Yes, there may be some happy homes but I can’t imagine anyone else received a dog as sick and tiny as we did. See picture below of our * *** yellow Maltese size * **** Saint Bernard puppy who should have been over ** lbs.Business response

**** ****** was offered a refund for her Saint Bernard Puppy from us in which she declined. We also offered to give her another pup out of our litter and she also declined that offer as well. We asked **** ****** multiple times to provide documentation from her veterinarian that indicated the the puppy was "malnourished" as she claims. We took all of our pups to our local veterinarian office and had them all vaccinated at 4 weeks of age. Our veterinarian did not deem our pups malnourished. We actually still have one of the pups from our litter from May of **** and her name is Venus. She has been examined multiple times by the veterinarian and has not been deem medically malnourished. We also had plenty of other pups from that same litter that none of our clients had issues with their pups. **** ****** was refunded her initial vet bill and we asked her multiple times to provide documentation from her vet stating that Salem was malnourished. She failed to give us any medical records of that nature. We also told **** ****** that Cujo, the father of the litter, was not a large Saint Bernard. Cujo is *** lbs. which is not considered big for Saint Bernards. Harley the mother of the litter is just *** lbs on a good day. We told **** ****** this multiple times and she has been very uncooperative. She had also use profanity and unprofessional conduct towards me and my contractor multiple occasions. When told her that we had another pup out of the litter named Venus whom we stated is not malnourished and whom is the sister of **** ******** dog, Salem, she immediately stopped responding further with any of her previous claims.
Attached is one of our pups from our Spring **** litter a few months ago.

Complaint: ********
I am rejecting this response because: We had driven 4 hours two ways and were not going to drive again for another puppy, while also returning a very unhealthy dog back to a negligent owner. Yes, I did use profanity but per our vet this dog should have died. It was unacceptable. Our male is ***lbs and understand there is varying in size however this is not a weight issue, this is a height issue as bone plates can be damaged due to malnutrition. I have provided documentation from the Vet stating the dog was stained in urine and VERY underweight. Multiple times. I would have taken another dog from the litter if I was not concerned on the status of the dog I was returning as she needed extensive care.

**** ****** may return the dog in exchange for a pup out of our upcoming litter. There are no other offers we can give her. We cannot refund her for one of our dogs in which she keeps the dog as well. She can only do an exchange. She may also view our no-refund policy on our website. I am rejecting this response because this is an animal we have had for 10 months and have grown attached to, as well as unsure what would happen to her if she was returned. We have a vested interest in this animals well being so would only take a litter pick while maintaining Salem.
