I was referred to Ka U'a Gutter Company AKA "Gutter Gabe" by a contractor who did good work. Gabe quoted a price for the job & set up a date to do installation. On the day of installation, instead of calling my husband or I to verify what to do on a shared wall with our neighbor, Gabe removed the existing gutter, put the new gutter on only half of the shared wall and put the ***** downspout in the middle of a white wall, in violation of our HOA rules. Gabe did call my husband earlier in the day to ask where the electrical outlet was so it's not as though he did not have our contact information. When I contacted Gabe to fix the problem, he said that I had to pay him $100, because he was going to have to remove the existing new gutter, then replace it with a whole new part so that there was no joint/seam in the gutter. Although I did not agree with having to pay for something that was not my mistake, I just wanted the issue fixed and to never have to deal with Gabe again. Gabe did not call or show up for the appointment to fix the gutter and finally after several times when he said he was going to come and fix it, he came and jointed it instead of it being one solid piece like he said. During that time, Gabe also rudely told my neighbor "Are you going to pay me or are they?" After I contacted Gabe to fix this second error, he said he would come but only when it was convenient for him if he had another job in the area. After several months, he never showed up (as I figured). I texted him and called and he ignored both and did not respond. Finally, I texted him that I would file a complaint with BBB and the ******************************************* and file a criminal complaint for unlicensed contracting activity and only then did he contact me back and FINALLY come repair the gutter the way he originally said he would. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY & DO NOT REFER ANYONE TO THIS MAN. TERRIBLE BUSINESS/OWNER. NO INTEGRITY/HONESTY.
