We entered into a contract to replace our hail damaged roof per **************** claim #********* on 6.15.23 with Top Notch Contracting, LLC. After entering into this contract (with roofing work only to be done), Top Notch Contracting, LLC sent a supplemental invoice to our insurance company for this claim, seeking over $20k worth of supplemental work, most of which is on work that is part of our insurance claim but that they were not contracted to do - another company was. Our roof work was then performed on 7.6.23 and completed on 7.10.23 without a permit in place as promised on the contract. Only when we asked how the final inspection went did they even file for a permit - on 7.19.23. They then undervalued the permit by over $14k to save on permitting fees but passed those false fees onto our homeowners insurance for reimbursement. After finally getting the work inspected and passing, Top Notch then began billing us for thousands upon thousands of dollars over our contracted price. When we questioned these extra charges, their contact person explained that she didn't know how to read insurance claims correctly and had made errors due to such on our bill. This continued time and time again - we have been presented with over 8 invoices to date. We have emailed multiple times to get this issue resolved and try to remit the proper balance due but our emails are often left unanswered for months. After our last attempt to get this paid, we were told that they were owed all the money for supplemental that they did not due and added on extra fees that they had already admitted were errors. They then became very hostile and said they were going to add late fees, interest and lien our home.
