I got hooked up with Connett Services through my home warranty company. They have done a great job for both me and my mom in the past. I was so impressed with the way the techs acted and the work they did that I asked about a purchasing two 3 year maintenance plans that were on sale according to their website. The tech didn't pressure me or even mention the maintenance contract. I brought it up to him. They have been doing the twice a year maintenance on two properties for me. Today while doing the maintenance inspection the tech *** showed me the capacitor from one of my ** units and explained what it was and why it needed to be replaced. He told me it would be over $200 to replace the part. We discussed how to get the home warranty company to let them replace it if I paid the $85 service charge since Connett Services is one of their contractors. *** waited while I was talking with the home warranty company and trying to get them to let him fix it while he was here instead of sending another company out to diagnose the problem and replace the part. It ended up that the home warranty company assigned another one of their contractors to replace the part instead of Connett Services. The temperature for the week was going to be 100 degrees and over so I needed the part replaced fast. It was so nice of *** to hang out and even try talking to the home warranty company trying to get them to just let him replace the part while he was here. He was here at least ***** minutes after checking all the **** units waiting to see if he could get authorization to replace the part. I appreciate the fact that he cared enough to not rush off to his next job and he explained why he did not think the capacitor should just be put back in the ** unit until the company assigned by the home warranty company could get out here. I did put out new air filters that I noticed he didn't put one in the furnace. I have been happy with the service I have gotten from Connett Services.Connett Services Response

This is a long read…but VERY important concerning our recent experience with Connett Services (a local Heating / AC / Water Heater company). Bottom line - Their inept staff almost killed my family. A few years ago, our water heater was installed by Connett Services and recently stopped working. We called Connett to look at it. The first tech who came out inspected the unit and felt he had figured out the issues. After he left our home the Carbon Monoxide detector started alerting. We immediately called Connett back out. The 2nd tech inspected and ran the water heater, reset the Carbon Monoxide detector, and said he found NO ISSUES with the water heater. 30 minutes later the detector started alerting again, so we called Connett again. The customer service person told us the tech reported there were NO ISSUES with the water heater and told us we needed to replace the batteries in the detector because that was the issue. After some back and forth they finally agreed to send out a tech again, but we also called the City of Waukee gas department to have them test for Carbon Monoxide. The city immediately picked up unsafe levels of Carbon Monoxide when they tested. Upon further inspection, it turns out the unit had a crack in it and was leaking Carbon Monoxide! If we wouldn’t have pushed for Connett to come back out (a 3rd time!) and simply did as the customer service person from Connett had said, my family could have died! Not only has Connett clearly lost a potential long-term customer, but I would also hope anyone reading this would reconsider using this company. People are always looking for recommendations for Heating / AC companies. These folks are 100% NOT it!Connett Services Response

We are sorry to hear you feel this way. Customer safety is ALWAYS our top priority. We would never intentionally leave a customer's home with CO leaking, but we are only human.
Tankless water heaters need to be serviced every year. We installed the unit for you in 2017 and to our knowledge, it was never serviced.
We were trying to rectify this whole situation, as best as we could for you. We had sent a tech out for a 4th time to troubleshoot the unit with tech support from the manufacturer, in order to get the whole unit replaced. While waiting for the new unit to arrive, every time we spoke, you were threatening our staff and angry. We understood your frustration, but we cannot allow our staff to be treated that way.
We will use this experience as a learning tool. Our processes are being reviewed to ensure this doesn't happen again. We always strive to be the best we can be and to give our customers a great service experience.Review from J. B.

They installed a furnace for me. They never even had the ****************** Mechanical Inspector come back out to final the permit. When I brought this to their attention (over a year later. I would have just assumed this was something that a licensed and bonded company would have done), they met the City inspector out at the property. The city failed their permit. The furnace had been back drafting and carbon monoxide had been leaking into the home for over a year! When I spoke to **** and *** (the owners of Connett) about the issue, they sent a tech out. *** admitted that the tech (who was his son), had installed the furnace wrong. He quoted me $2000 to fix the problem. When he showed up the next day to do the work (that should have been free), he then sent me an invoice for $4300!!!!!!!!!!!!!Connett Services Response

We installed the furnace for a home warranty company and then Covid hit and the city suspended inspections for awhile and we did not have it inspected, the entire flue pipe needs replaced and that was not part of the original job and she would have had to pay for that out of pocket because the home warranty did not cover that and we do not know when that started to leak so that could have happened after the install. The customer called out the gas company and they found gas leaks in the old gas line that we did not replace on the original job, **** was told the cost and said to fix the problems but when we ask for payment she refused. She did not have a city permit to have this as a rental and if she did they may have found any issues during a rental inspection. Property managers normally have more understanding about how this works.Customer Response

I have a letter in hand from both the ****************** showing that they FAILED their final permit because the furnace was installed wrong. The inspector did find other things wrong that were NOT Connett's fault. That is not why the permit that was pulled to install the new furnace didn't pass. The inspector confirmed with me that even if he hadn't found the other issues that he did, he still would have failed the furnace inspection.I had another company come out and confirm the same thing. I have pictures to prove my case.Review from Stella V.

Wouldn't use any other HVAC company than Connett Services. They are honest, kind, experienced and care about their customers. I bought my heat pump and furnace from them in 2019. I trust them with all my HVAC needs and yearly maintenance. ********************* is my service advisor each and every time and I trust him and his expertise and work. They are the best! Nothing like doing business with a family owned company that takes good care of you and you can trust with all your HVAC needs. Thank you!!Connett Services Response
