I actually had an argument with ******* over the phone 3 times as he disrespected me and refused to transfer to management, claiming he didn't know how to transfer calls. I continued calling him back every time he would eventually transfer me to voicemail and he would answer and insult me. The employees are out of control.Review from Amanda S

Trying to get a hardship withdrawal to build a house and it has been nothing but a headache. My husband has explained every document line for line yet they continue to have the same questions thats in black and white in front of them. Youre not allowed to talk to the document specialist only their customer service **** who make notes then never call you back. They cant seem to understand the documents such a waste of time to get access funds that should be relatively simple to gain access to.Review from Ricco G

Trying to get my account information is next to impossible. The webpage can't find my records and the call center cannot give me my account information because the security questions have to do with the prior company I worked for. The advice from Principal is to call my previous employer. Easier said then done!!! Previous employer is not great with communication, which is why I called Principal directly. Ask me other security questions or give me a way to access my account online. Horrible ExperienceReview from Tara S

I've requested a distribution 3 separate times since June when the company I worked for went bankrupt. Principal has given me the "run-around", saying they are waiting for approval from a 3rd party administrator. After about a month or so of my distribution request under review, I have to resubmit the application online as if I never did. Again, this has happened 3 times now. I would not reccommend this investment company and I will be taking legal action.Review from Jaylen F

I put in a request to withdraw money from my 401k due to damage at my residence. I sent in everything they asked me for Ive called multiple times to get a status on my withdrawal they keep asking for the same documents that I have already uploaded and submitted to them. They ended up canceling my process due to them not having all the information which AGAIN I submitted TWICE!. I dont recommend this company to anyone due the miscommunication with the workers and also going through so MANY loop holes just to get YOUR MONEY from YOUR 401k ..Review from vi t

THE CUSTOMER SERVICE IS HORRIBLE. OUT OF 5 CALLS ONLY 1 "SPECIALIST" UNDERSTOOD MY REQUEST FOR HELP. THEY NEED TO TRAIN UP THEIR CUSTOMER SERVICE SPECIALIST ESPECIALLY WHEN THEY ARE IN CONTROL OF OUR FINANCES. COMPLETELY UNACCEPTABLE . I WILL MISS MY CLOSING DATE ON MY HOME BECAUSE I CANT GET THE FUNDS NEEDED TO CLOSE AFTER PROVIDING DOCUMENTS THEY REQUESTED. THEY STILL HAVE NOT RELEASED THE FUNDS. WISH MY COMPANY USED A DIFFERENT FINANCIAL GROUP FOR OUR 401K.Review from Gregory K

Principal Is still taking money out of my paycheck over a month after recirving a lettter in the mail confirmation that changes have been made. I am going to hire an attorney and pursue action. You DONT tell your inverstor you have done something they've requested and then go behind their back and keep taking their money!!@ Lies, Thiefs, Bad business practices.Review from Thomas H

I have had a horrible experience with this company, I left my employer on Sep 10th and submitted a request to have my funds withdrawn. They initially told me it could take up to before they could deposit my funds due to their contract with the employer. Then on the 21st of September, they sent me an email stating that my claim was in process and that they have everything they need and I would receive my deposit within 2-3 business days. I did not receive my money and i called back on the 4th of October and expressed my concern, she told me that it was because they did not have my banking info. I provided my account information and she advised that it would be another 2-3 bus days. It is now a week later and guess what. still no money! I spoke to a supervisor and they said i should not have received that original email and it would be another 2-3 business days again, ************ is garbage. If you are a company looking for a 401k company do not use them. if you are an employee and you company has Principal ad a 401k provider. get all you money out and close the account. its not worth it!!!!!!!!!! This insurance company is awful with maternity leave. They issued a lump sum of money at the beginning of my leave saying this is our portion we pay and the state will pay the rest. Come to find out they entered how I usually get paid and how much wrong and over paid me. But it wasn't caught until returning to work. They never gave a break down of the pay so I couldn't check and the state hadn't paid me yet so I had no idea they did this mistake. So I had to owe back thousands. Their excuse was this happens a lot and someone didn't double check their work you still owe us for our mistake. Don't use this company at all if you can avoid it. They did it to me and my coworker and we both had our babies 6 months apart from each other. This is a very unprofessional company don't trust them with anything.Review from Melody K

I signed up for this company for **** with my employer, and I am experiencing an emergency hardship that unfortunately is against the rules for this company as they stated. Even though I was told by the couple of **** that as long as it's an emergency this can happen they sent paperwork twice that I acknowledge and signed and sent back to their email address, I spoke to a supervisor that was no help. Now I that I don't feel as if they are a fit for my money, the only way to get my funds that comes out of my paycheck every two weeks. I explain my emergency situation and there was no compassion nor assistance to my situation, only non concern. Now the supervisor is stating that I can not discontinue unless I am terminated. So I cant get my money at all. This is the worst **** company ever and if anyone come across this company don't trust them with your money!!! I HATE THAT I DIDN'T KNOW THIS INFO BEFORE SIGNING UP NOW I HAVE TO GET FIRED BEFORE i CAN RECIEVE MY HARD EARNED MONEY. I didn't want to leave any stars.
