Worst home buying experience of my life. House was delivered at the end of Oct beginning of Nov 2022. The dealer Carefree Homes performed the installation. Immediately we began to have leaking problems. Carefree came out 3-4 times to try and resolve the issues but it turned out that manufacturer defects were the primary cause of leaking. On Dec 25, 2022 we discovered the carpet next to a front wall was soaking wet. Water was coming down through the wall and into the flooring. Over several weeks I removed more than 50 gallons of water from the carpet. The issue though immediately identified remained unfixed until August of 2023. During the winter of 2023 we found water coming down through the microwave over vent. I informed Kit Custom Homebuilders as ******** began ignore our calls. The week of Thanksgiving 2023 Kit called and said someone would be right out to fix the problem. I never heard from them again even after leaving multiple messages on their customer service line. We finally were forced to engage attorneys because of their refusal to honor their warranty. Now they claim they won't pay attorney fees because there was no reason to get attorneys involved, no reason other than they refused to respond. Finally they agreed to a $10,000 cap of fees yet because they have dragged the issue out rather than just fix the problems fees have continued to increase. I don't trust them as they have also lied to me on a direct call, I asked if they had spoken to my attorney and they said they had when in fact they had not. Roof was finally replaced after 3 different reports showing manufacture defects. Now waiting to mold remediation and floor repairs as water that came down through the walls has destroyed the kitchen flooring. This could have all been resolved without legal action had they simply honored their warranty and fixed their mistakes when they were reported more than a year ago.

Kit Custom Homebuilders has replaced the ****** roof and are making every attempt to repair any interior damage caused by the leak on the roof. We are currently in contact with a water remediation company Elite Restoration to get the interior taken care of if there are any problems on the inside of the home. The ******** dealership Carefree Homes has agreed to repair or replace damaged flooring in the kitchen weather it is water related or not. We are doing everything we can to put this customer concerns to rest and they can enjoy their new home.

Dont buy a Kit home unless you have lots of money for lawyers. They wont honor the warranty they brag about. Cheap thin sewer pipes inside the underbelly broke and soaked the insulation and flooded the crawl space multiple times in multiple locations. Had to fix it myself. Water pipes in the underbelly freeze in winter. Heating and cooling are engineered so bad there are some rooms freezing and some too hot. We finally ran out of money to pay lawyers and settled for less than what we owed. If they would buy this home back from us I would sell it in a heartbeat. If you are a potential buyer or a Kit home rep, come see me. ***********************, **

It looks like most of these homes were bought or ordered during the ******* ****** ****  Virus which totally screwed up the manufactured home industry as to build times ! We ordered our home in 9/21/21 and it will be delivered at the end of 3/23 ! it is what it is ! So quit blaming the manufactured for things beyond their control ! Kit is still the Best Home on the Market in my Humble Opinion !

Brand new home delivered set up, moved in 9/1/21. I have emailed "with" KIT numerous times about this issue, but as of mid November, we have not seen a reply. So here we are. The home is so nice, we bought a **** sq ft home/model Cedar Canyon ****. We live on several acres in the desert in an HOA and chose to have **** floors throughout the home due dust dirt, just desert living. We picked out the "marriage line/threshold/transition", whatever you call *** **** were told it would not be an exact match, (different material like paper wrapped) which we understood and that was that. Once we did the walk thru, it seemed to sit high **** were not thrilled with *** but that is how it is, we were told. After living in it for a while we quickly came to realize that the 29ft x 5inch part of marriage line which is fully exposed due to the open floor plan (and about 10+ ft in the bedroom) has become a slip & slide strip in our home. This piece is a guaranteed HAZARD! I have slipped, husband has slipped, dog as well, no falls YET, but we were lucky. That is a for sure thing waiting to happen & will no doubt happen, if you are wearing socks (and who doesn't). Now, if you wear shoes or go barefoot (although one friend tripped on the lip) you should be ok, but again where we live, we take our shoes off! So socks are about 99% of what we wear around here. I actually own an exercise "slide board" used by hockey ************* skaters & the marriage line is the same thing without stoppers, its CRAZY Slippery!!!! So we have had to purchase several carpet runners to place over the line! This lovely home now looks ridiculous! Its embarrassing to explain to people what the rugs are for & that we have to live like this, it doesn't matter whether we spend $1000 or $200 on rugs, it looks awful & for a new home!! We have not been given any solutions/resolutions from the dealer, who said to contact KIT, nor from KIT, just emails back & forth & told contact a floor person in our area? but for what? What can be done? or asked if we would we like the ugly metal transitions they used to offer? No, WE JUST WANT IT TAKEN CARE OF! I do recall the dealer was out fixing a few things before the holidays (more to be fixed though) & said there was an option to have the flooring put in after the sections were delivered & there would have been no line? Is this true? and why was that no offered to us? we would have gladly spent the money to do *** knowing what we know!! Like so many options we were never made aware of **** noted that in the many emails I sent, but it seems to fall on deaf ears. We just want the home we bought to not have to have rugs lined up over 24+ feet, we want it to be SAFE for everyone to walk into, children, friends, animals, my 83 year old Mom who is having hip replacement in February. We DO NOT want rugs all over & should not be expected to have them in our NEW home! We do not want to have to make sure we are aware & make everyone aware of every step they take in our home, whether during the day or late at night in the dark, if they are staying here! Do we need caution tape? We just want to walk through our pretty home without rugs & worrying about slipping and falling or worse! The only reason there has been no worse, is due to rugs rugs rugs and cautioning anyone who enters! We will search/consult an attorney(s) if we have to & any other means to get some help/satisfaction & maybe we will be told, "it isn't worth the fight". But it is a hazard waiting to happen, so it is worth it to us! ******
