On May 4, 2023 we purchased, from *********************, sales representative and installer for Sunsetter Awning a SUNSETTER 13 X 10 Platinum Motorized awning with a front drop screen. **************** also works for Mobile Ramps located *****************************************************************************. As a dealer for SUNSETTER Awnings, he is responsible for sales and installation of the awnings. Sunsetter Awning is located at *******************************************************************************On May 4, 2023 we paid for and ordered from ************************* $ ******** up front for the awning, which he ordered from Sunsetter on or about May 4, 2023. However, the side weather screen was not available from the company, Sunsetter, because it had not been fabricated yet. The screen remained on backorder in the meantime. I called Sunsetter and asked them to send the awning without the screen because we wanted use of the awning as soon as possible.Included in the $ ******** was the installation fee of $ ****** The following items were paid for:The Awning -- $ ******** Installation -- $ ****** Side Weather Shield -- $ ****** Wind Sensor-- $ ****** Weather Warranty -- $ ****** Finally, on July 3, 2023 the awning arrived from Sunsetter via ********************** came on July 3, 2023 to install the awning and then left. The bill of sale DOES NOT STATE that the $ ****** install fee did not include installation of the awing, side weather screen. Today, September 5, 2023 the side weather shield finally arrived via ****** I called **************** and asked him to come and install the weather shield, which should have been installed on July 3, 2023 with the awning. **************** adamantly refused to do so without payment of $ ******. I explained that, had the shield arrived with the awning, he would have installed that too. He said that the $ ****** did not include installation of the weather shield and that, had the shield arrived on July 3, 2023 with the awning, he would have charged me extra to install it. I told **************** that the $ ****** included all items on the list; the awing, side weather shield and the wind sensor. I asked him, if he installed the wind sensor without charge on July 3, why was he now demanding payment to install the side weather shield? My wife then took the phone and asked **************** why was he was not willing to install the shield without payment, especially since we waited several months for the shield. **************** gave us an ultimatum: Pay $ ****** to install the shield or else, after which, he cut off the phone call.I sent **************** a text with the bill of sale attached. I got no answer. At no time on May 4, 2023, when he took or order for the awning, did **************** say that the installation fee would not include installation of the added accessories, the wind sensor and side weather screen. I shall note that **************** has been **** and almost discourteous in my phone conversations and texts with him regarding shipping issues connected with the awing and the accessory weather shield.Business response

Mobile Ramps is an independent dealer of all manufacturing companies. In the almost 15 years in business we can confidently say we have the best customers.
In regards to ******************, he stated it best when he admitted the following: "I called (the manufacturer) and asked them to send the primary equipment without the accessory item because we wanted use of the primary equipment as soon as possible." ****************** on his own altered the original order. When the primary equipment arrived, we successfully installed primary equipment. Before leaving we provided homeowner with the customary instructions to its proper operation. Mr.******* was pleased with the final result. He inquired about the accessory item that he requested the manufacturer deliver separately. I suggested he cancel this item as it wasnt delivered with the primary equipment. He declined. It is important to note this accessory item is 4% of the total value of the project.
When the accessory item was delivered several months later, ****************** requested we come install it. We were more than happy to provide that service by scheduling a customary service call that would be needed to perform the desired service. ************ was repeatedly offered to him and he repeatedly declined. ****************** eventually took over the phone and threatened to have the policeman be here to decide if we should pay for service call Mobile Ramps offered one more time to schedule a service call but once again customer declined. ********************** exercises sole discretion to charge for additional service calls. This is a standard, normal, and customary feature of all service companies.
It is unfortunate that this has been the response of Mr. ***** *******************. But in the spirit of good faith, Mobile Ramps still extends the option to them to schedule a service call if they so choose (sans policeman of course).Customer response

I am rejecting this response because:I quote Mobile Ramps' response. The Bible says, "Thou shalt not lie!" *********** had done just that. They say: When the accessory item was delivered several months later, ******************
requested we come install it. We were more than happy to provide that
service by scheduling a customary service call that would be needed to
perform the desired service. ************ was repeatedly offered to him
and he repeatedly declined. ****************** eventually took over the
phone and threatened to have the policeman be here to decide if we
should pay for service call Mobile Ramps offered one more time to
schedule a service call but once again customer declined. **********************
exercises sole discretion to charge for additional service calls. This
is a standard, normal, and customary feature of all service companies."Yes, Mobile Ramps was "more than happy to provide that service (Installation). Mobile Ramps, in its response, omitted that. Herein lies the lie: Mobile Ramps, deliberately, neglects to say that the service it claims I rejected was not free. I rejected the offer of ************************* to perform the job for a $ ****** installation fee. I told him, in no uncertain terms, that the $****** installation fee I paid covered installation of ALL items on the bill of sale: The Awning, wind sensor AND the weather shield. He stated that the $ ****** covered only installation of the awning, but nothing else. If he's right, then why didn't he charge extra to install the wind sensor which, along with the back-ordered weather shield, was a component of the awning. I have spoken with another Sunsetter dealer out of **************, ****, Mr. ********************** who is also an independent Sunsetter dealer. He concurred with me, that **************** should have installed all the items on the bill of sale/contract. ****************** stated that, as an installer and dealer, he would have installed the weather shield without charge and that yes, the $ ****** covered installation of all items in the bill of sale/contract. ****************** works for a company called Home Improvement Specialties in **************. His number is ************. He can attest to the phone conversation I had with him on Friday September 15, 2023.
Yes, I did reject ******************** "offer" to "finish the job" for the $ ****** fee he demanded. **************** hanged up the phone on me after I refused to schedule him for the installation---- at a price. In my opinion, **************** is dishonest and is a *****. I wish I had known, beforehand, of his foul character. Otherwise, I would have never purchased the awning through him or done business with Sunsetter. I had the option of going with a local awning company out of *********. I regret I did not do so.
Mobile Ramps response is unacceptable. It tells only part of the truth of the matter.
Sincerely,
***************************
