After using the company for years for maintenance, we felt safe having them replace a furnace at our home, even though we now live out of state. The work was done, the technicians are knowledgeable and efficient. However, we were sold a loan by the company salesman, held and serviced by ********, a subsidiary of ******* *****. The loan terms were not available to us until the work was already done. The bank refused to disclose anything to us on the phone, due to "privacy concerns". The terms of the loan are virtually identical to the terms that were ruled to be predatory lending and declared illegal in the past. A bit of research shows that ******** is in court currently, has been in court in the past and has paid fines in the millions for their illegal and predatory practices. As a long time resident of ******************** where Home ********************** is based, I felt that it was very important to let them know what our experience has been. Despite placing numerous calls, no one has returned them, and the answering service has made it clear that they are tired of taking the same message. I am appalled by a company that I trusted being the avenue through which a predatory lender is now causing such grief and expense in my life. I'm even more shocked that in such a small community, they refuse to address the situation. I'm left to assume that they continue to throw their loyal customers to the sharks.
