I am being charged 25 dollars for a no show. I talked to there receptionist (male) that I didn't need that appointment and I wasn't going to make it. I have had trouble with this individual in the past and this is not professional. They always try to charge my insurance over and over scheduling so they can get money. They are all about the money and have a really bad service. I don't have a document for this I was emailed the threat. I think they need a better employee. Thank you for reading.Business response

The patient has no showed/ cancelled SAME day of appointment time multiple times (5) in the last year. The agreement that the patient signed states that if they do not cancel their appointment at a minimum of 24 hours before their appointment time, there will be a $25 charge. This is a modest, charge, regulated by the government for medical offices. There are several business that charge their entire fee whether or not you show up or cancel in the appropriate amount of time. We do not charge until the second offense, sometimes more based on situation. We also let each patient know that if they have issues, they are welcome to call and discuss any issue. this goes along with any fees we have. We get life happens. Often the result of a conversation about a no show fee is a waived fee. For this instance, the charge was already removed before the complaint was even filed. Management was notified, and an adjustment made.
Despite multiple conflicts with this patient, we have done more than required to assist him in his needs- even writing off as a courtesy hundreds of dollars, due to hardship. We are a very professional office, with a personal touch. When there is an issue, we often reach out to the patient to resolve the misunderstanding, see what we can do to improve, and make the process of healing easier. We do not yell, swear, make demands, or disrespect anyone. Regarding the overcharging of insurance, we only bill what services we perform. If there is any question by the insurance company, they request charts to review the validity of our charges. We have not been told by his insurance company that we were not appropriate in our billing practices. Because we are contracted with most insurance companies, we only get paid based on what the contract allows. This also includes what we can collect from the patient. ********************* determines what portion the patient will pay. We are NOT just about the money. We never have been. We have to watch our money, but more importantly we strive to give excellent care.
I request that this complaint be removed. The receptionist did his job, and more. The receptionist came and talked to the management and put in action the waived fee that the patient complains of above.

Tripp Family Medicine is charging me $7.94 for a payment. The facility has tried to charge me for no show fees and they try to get you in as much as possible to milk your insurance. I was also fired from my job recently for them not working on my FMLA which I requested.Business response

Attached is the complainer's visit log. Note that there should be 5 No show fees. None of which were even charged, except the one he wrote about, which we wrote off after he had yelled at my receptionist and left the office before there could be communication or resolution made.
Attached is the signed agreement about the no show fee that was signed less than a year ago.
Also, attached is the said email of threat from our office.
I also see that he signed a HIPAA release, which allows me to have his name listed. If these are posted, please black out all identifying information. Thank you.

I do have more information for this complaint. Patients FMLA paperwork was started on Jan 18, 2023, and completed as requested and faxed along with all answered questions from the company/ins company on January 23, 2023. The $7.94 is the balance that he owes from his last visit that his insurance has put towards patient responsibility per his insurance contract.
