I had MLS remodel a bathroom and add a bathroom and I am thrilled with the results. They were detailed, I knew what to expect, the timeline, etc. I was blown away by the end results they were so much nicer than I had expected. I will be using MLS for my kitchen remodel as soon as possible! The crew, **** and office personnel were professional and very easy to work with.Review from Michael U

Since my family and I hired MLS Roofing to install a new Mansard Roof three years ago we have had more problems then the old roof they replaced. We have had leaking above our bedroom sliding doors, living room sliding doors, bathroom skylight, and for the last 8 months my daughters window has been leaking in her bedroom. It takes constant text messaging and phone calls to get them to come out. When they say they will call first thing in the morning and be there tomorrow, they do not show up and they usually do not call. My daughter's window they've come out twice to fix it. We recently had a ******************* remove all the damaged drywall in my daughters room and there was a lot of water damage behind the drywall. We still don't know if it's even repaired or not. We asked the roofers to look at it while the ******************* was here, They didn't call or show up. Now we have another water spot in another bedroom. It's just one big nightmare.MLS Construction & Roofing, Inc. Response

Good afternoon. While I appreciate ****************** situation i wish to make clear several points that are verifiable and pertinent. 1. When the roof was 1st done the owner supplied inferior , bad quality skylights that we told the owner were a problem skylight the frequently failed and we had serviced or replaced before. We were told to use what he supplied. Subsequent repairs to those very skylights have been done at his request because of failing seals. We did those and suggested replacement but were told no.2. When replacing your roof we also found significant water and structural damage at the balcony facing the front of the house facing patio door. Upon further investigation it was determined the the existing windows and doors in the Mansard roof section were in various stages of decay due to the years precipitating that had caused the deterioration. We adamantly suggested replacement/mitigation and were told no and that was a project for another day or time.3. The owners 1st floor door and window issues stem from the 2nd floor door and window issues that we suggested replacing 3.5 years ago as there is no roof near the 1st floor. Suggesting your roofing contractor is to blame for ground floor openings of a 2 story home with original windows and doors is baffling to me.4. The last email received by my office was in September of last year to which someone showed up and once again caulked skylights and an outstanding invoice for labor and material to service a skylight we told you not to put in has never been paid by this owner.5. To the allegations about texts and phone calls , Ive received 2 phone calls that i recall. 1 , a month ago stating that there was a restoration company situation that you asked we be there. I asked you to email so my office could schedule. NEVER GOT THE ****** 2nd call was last week right before or after he posted this review saying that hed been dealing with a Former employee of mine via text to get these things done and that this former employee was not showing up ?? Several things come to mind when thinking of this unfortunate situation.1. The owner could have listened to our recommendations about materials and other needed work originally. This could have eliminated the present issues.2. The owner should have email records of ignored or refused requests from MLS ?? None exist !3. The owner knowingly sought out a former MLS employee to come do the work and did not communicate this intent or action until last week . 4. **** post last weeks negative review that the owner contacted this former employee AGAIN , to do more work on the same facing issues stemming from his bad decisions. He called me to tell me ****************** didnt mention and communication or reviews with me and didnt tell him he spoke with me. Why ?5. **** my company is not responsible for owner negligence nor bad decisions and that the actions this owner has taken has nullified any remaining roof warranty as no employee of MLS has done any work there. A former employee is not a valid representative of anyones company .MLS Construction & Roofing stands by its reputation and years of good standing and will continue too. Thanks youCustomer Response

The installation of the roof did go well and we were happy with the repairs they did. MLS was helpful and showed us pictures of the damage they were repairing. We were new to owning the house so it was shocking to find out how bad the roof was. We were grateful for the help that MLS gave us with replacing our roof. I very rarely ever leave a bad review. I am patient and willing to give people the benefit of the doubt. Had MLS Roofing just reached out to me from my last phone call and responded I wouldn't have left this review. Had they reached out to me to make things right after this review I would have taken this review down. Instead MLS Roofing has chosen to point their fingers at me instead. Which is fine. They can be defensive instead of customer friendly. They want to save face instead of standing behind their work which is also well within their right. Had I known this company would be aggressively attacking me saying all the roof issues were all my fault I probably would have left 1 star instead of 2. They clearly do not want to deal with the issues with this roof. But MLS Roofing clearly does not understand properly all the issues we've had with our roof. 1.) The first leak we had was on the second floor. It was in our master bathroom and the skylight was not new and not old. We were not told to replace it when they installed the roof. After I contacted them a month later they came out and resealed the skylight and I was told it should have been sealed better. We had drywall damage which they did not offer to repair. I had that fixed the wall myself and paid for the repairs. 2.) The second leak took place over the sliding doors in our master bedroom. Again it took over a month for someone to come and fix it. I later found out the person who was in charge of installing the roof and the one who did the first repair was in the hospital which was the reason it took so long to fix it. He came out and found the door was not properly sealed. He made the repairs and we haven't had any problems since. 3. We had the really bad winter in ******* with -30 degree weather. My daughters room started having wetness come through the walls. I called MLS Roofing who was very unfriendly. He told me to have the insurance company come out. The person from MLS Roofing who installed our roof came out after the winter to look at everything. He said he found an issue that he sealed up. Insurance claimed a $800 payment if we filed a claim after the deductible so we didn't file a claim. 4. A leak over the living room sliding doors started. I called MLS Roofing again and was yelled at on the phone and asked why I didn't have them come out to fix things with the insurance company like he told me to. I was completely shocked and didn't know what to say. HIs ******* was here and so was the insurance. This wasn't even the same area as my daughters room. He told me to send an email to the website email. So I did. No response. I sent another and no response. I reached out to the *******. The ******* came out 3 months later after a lot of calls and saying they he would show up. He told me there was a problem with the gutters they installed and a gap had been created and because the gutters bow in the middle the water sits in the middle and the water needs to go somewhere. So it was going in the house. This was also fixed but not the bow in the middle. The gutter was not installed properly by MLS Roofing. The ******* told me to contact him directly so the person at MLS wouldn't yell at me when I called. 5. The next leak took place in my In Laws in suite which the add on apartment as recently built the same time as the roof. As stated the problem was the skylight which MLS Roofing did say we shouldn't install. My In Laws wanted to save money and had them installed anyway. This was not MLS Roofings fault but they did do the repair. It took a while to get someone out but they did fix it. 6. Water started coming in my daughters window in 2021 before the winter. At this point the ******* who installed the roof was the one I was dealing with for MLS Roofing. According to this feedback he is no longer employeed with MLS Roofing which I did not know. The ******* never told me this. MLS Roofing had sent him out every time there was an issue. There is no reason for me to believe he didn't still work for them. He came out after the winter and looked over everything he could. He resealed things. But a month later after more rain more water came in my daughter's room. At this point it was so bad we needed to have a company come out to remove all the wet drywall and insulation. I called MLS Roofing directly again because there ******* was not responding and I was getting angry. We found what was long term water damage and mold was starting to form. MLS Roofing never called me back but the ******* did. He came out, found where the leak was coming from which was a result of a dip in the roof at the top of the Mansard where water was collecting. He explained this was a problem with the roof installation. He also found another dip on the other side of the house he said he would come and fix. **************Look the person who responded to my review clearly does not have any idea of the issues we've had with this roof. The person who sold me this roof wasn't someone you wanted to talk to because he was not pleasant to speak with. As problems continued he was more interested in blaming me then have any type of **************** so I worked with the person I thought was with MLS Roofing who was someone I wasn't afraid to speak with. Obviously customer service is not something that's important to them or they would have reached out to me about this review to make things right rather than point fingers at me and blame myself for all the water problems we have had.MLS Construction & Roofing, Inc. ******************: I'm sorry you had a bad experience, but you are continuing to use a former employee to fix your problems. You are not taking responsibility for your own actions - you didn't contact us directly to fix your problem and you also did not fix things we told you about when we first fixed the roof. We wish you the best going forward. Two bad reviews in many years and ***** customers, while unfortunate, does happen.
