I ordered (8) 24' galvanized sheets for a garage ceiling through Zbest and picked up order in early May. The sheets were stored at Zbest outside uncovered prior to me picking them up. I stored the bundle in a shed at my property where it all remained for about a month until a contractor came to install them in my garage. After installing the first sheet the contractor noticed the zinc bled through the rest of the sheets leaving a white chalky stain on the remaining sheets. Since he was charging me for the job anyways and had already installed one sheet I had him finish the job thinking maybe I could treat the issue. I reached out to Zbest for the best plan of action. They told me they haven't heard of this issue before and sent me info on how I should've properly stored the metal. Ironically the information they supplied said to keep dry indoors which is not how they stored the metal prior to me picking it up. I believe the metal got wet in their possession which caused the damage. They said they would've given me new sheets if I returned the old sheets so they could sell at a discount, but since I had them installed they couldn't take them back. For a compromise I asked them how much they believed they could've gotten for the sheets if they were returned without holes. I was willing to pay that price for new sheets, but their response was there is no way of knowing what they could've gotten for them and sorry. I said if they couldn't come up with a number I was going to file a complaint with the BBB and I got no response for a week so here I am. Had they instructed me that the sheets needed to be installed soon after picking them up, said they had gotten wet and to dry them off, or wrapped them to keep them dry this could've been avoided.
