I was sent to this shop by a cut rate insurance company. Dropped my car off, called the owner or head person **** in the morning. Spoke to **** several times in the coming weeks about my car and the accident. I picked my car up from the shop, the bumper was fixed but, nothing mechanical was touched. I informed **** when I dropped the car off that there sounds like a bent tie rod scraping, picked the car up. Made it around the block and could already hear horrid scraping sounds. Went back to the shop and **** in formed me that he heard the scraping assumed it was brakes and told me the insurance wasn't going to cover it because they are cut rate. I called the insurance company and they said bring it back, I called Seam again and he says they aren't going to pay for it and I'm just going to be without a car for 7 weeks and it will be denied.Business response

What **** is requesting is INSURANCE FRAUD. **** was requesting the shop add parts/labor to estimate that are 100% not related in order for him to get additional repairs covered. We are a five star shop with a flawless ratingVehicle came in for a rear bumper replacement. Work was done very fast and the vehicle looked great(said customer).Customer requested I add his front brakes and tie rods to the estimate even though they were not related. I explained to him that it is fraud and we can not do that but would also put us in hot water with the insurance company.. Even if it was added to the estimate the insurance company would not approve it. Vehicle also a salvage car with extensive damage all over also not related to accident. We offered to do the work but if deemed not related then he would get stuck with the ****. Which of course he giggled and agreed not to worry about it at that point. His insurance approved this estimate below and that's it... We do not write or approve the estimates, only HIS insurance can do that... His issue is with the insurance company not us but he is not realizing that. **** has cut rate insurance let alone NO insurance company would approve what he is asking for.**** is simply trying to Defamation our family business due to him not getting additional work for free out of insurance. We are still happy to do the work for him if he would like to bring it back but we will NOT be able to pull fraud for him.Included is a copy of email from VP of claims from HIS insurance company,-***********************************Customer response

I am rejecting this response because: They were simply asked to diagnose the source of a sound that occurred after the accident. When I asked why they didn't look ****** exact words were "I assume it's the breaks". One assuming is not diagnosing, then the excuse that it won't be covered by any insurance company is not an excuse to not do the job. His isn't a place of professionalism. At this point, I would except an apology as I am in the process of going with a company that actually solves issues rather than passing the buck.
Sincerely,

This place of business is an automotive collision center but sadly we are not a mechanic shop. This location can only do body repairs NOT brake jobs and suspension work. That kind of work would have to go to a mechanic shop. We do know several very good ones in the area we can recommend.**** did mention the brake/suspension noise when he brought it in. Upon a test drive before repairs it was very clear and apparent it needed brakes. As well as you can see the condition of brakes by looking without needing to do any tear down.Insurance company said it would have been 100% denied as well as the shop would have gotten in trouble not only with the insurance company but also breaking the law by adding parts to an estimate knowing it's not related. We go above and beyond making the cars look great and even getting extra stuff covered even when it's a not great insurance company. There were even prior damage parts on ***** rear that I was able to get covered for him on this accident. So, it's a little disheartening that we already hooked him up with what we had to work with, yet he went this route with it-***********************
