Contractor warning I wanted to take a second to warn everyone of a contractor. We hired ***** Sackett (Aka Masters Touch/ Lights R Us) located in **********, to complete drywall repair and rehang, caulk, etc. the baseboard. Weve had poor past experiences with some contractors and so I specifically told my husband not to pay the gentleman in full until completion. Well, when I was in the hospital giving birth my ***** decided to pay him because he was nearing completion. He snuck in our home without knocking, took his tools, and left. He ghosted us and wouldnt respond to texts or calls. There was still roughly $2,000-2,500 of work to be completed. My husband was able to reach him from other numbers in which he pretended his phone was broken. My husband was able to reach out to him several more times from different numbers and he never followed through with delivering the check for the remaining work. He has great reviews on ******* but BBB shows that hes done similar to others. Always be careful and do thorough research, remember to not pay contractors in full till the work has been completed!

Her husband called me to do estimate for drywall and painting. We worked here and there because they were getting ready to have a baby. Her husband said he would hold off on the baseboards being put back together. The baseboards were not included in the bid, he just tried to put it off on me and I didn't say I would do it. Then she called her dad to come over to see the remaining of the work that was done. She said she wanted aa refund  of $2000-$2,500 and her husband told me I could get my tools so it wouldn't be sitting in the basement. So I went to get my tools. She put in the complaint that we snuck in her house to get the tools but her husband gave me permission. After we got our tools we didn't go back. The she got in touch with the Better Business Bureau, went to my website, and the Attorney General to try to slander my name.

The Contractor stated how this work would be done, how long it should take his crew, and how much this was going to cost. During the week of 9/26/2022 we moved our family to a hotel so that the Contractor could:
      - complete the repair of all interior walls and ceilings,
      - and paint all interior walls and ceilings,
      - so that the house would be ready for carpet to be installed by another company on 10/3/2022.

During this time the Contractor also removed the tile flooring in the kitchen and partially prepared the kitchen subfloor for new flooring.

On our return home on 10/1/2022 we found:
      - cracks not repaired,
      - plaster not applied in the way the Contractor stated it would be (not being able to see a clear difference between the old plaster and the new plaster),
      - debris (hair, dirt, carpet) on the walls painted over,
      - the stairway had not been completely prepared for the installation of the carpet,
      - a new hole in the drywall (subsequently repaired incorrectly),
      - old paint color showing through the new paint,
      - paint on cabinets, flooring, appliances, and furniture,
      - damage to furniture caused by wet plaster,
      - damage to furniture caused by improper disassembly/moving.

We repeatedly brought these issues to the Contractor, who became non-responsive and hostile.  These issues remain unresolved.

We scheduled to have a chair lift installed by another company on 10/6/2022.  In repeated discussions with the Contractor, he said the necessary work he was responsible for on the stairs would be completed prior to the chair lift install.  The necessary repairs have not been completed.

On 10/6/2022, we again brought these issues to the Contractor, who attempted to remove materials we have payed for, and stopped all work on our project without our consent.

The Contractor maintains a website with several statements we take issue with:

      ********************************* ****************************************************************************
      > Safe quality with peace of mind for discerning homeowners who want it done right.
      > Master’s Touch Painting is a professional painting company specializing in exceptional interior and exterior painting for discerning homeowners
      > Quality you can trust!

We did not feel "safe" when he was hostile.  We do not believe our project was done with "quality" or "done right" or was "exceptional".  We do not belive the Contractor has acted in a "professional" manner.  We cannot "trust" this Contractor.

I will provide an itemized list of the work that we were hired to do.  This consumer continued to add on to the list of things to do.  She hired additional vendors to do work before we were finished; this prevented us from completing some of the work.  In addition, her children were present and made it difficult to work around.  Since there was additional work that was added which we were not compensated for, we will not be refunding any money to this consumer.  The consumer harassed myself and my workers to make impossible to complete the job.

Repair damage to interior walls and ceilings including cracks and nail holes.
      Paint interior walls and ceilings
      Power wash exterior
Paint lindels in front of home
      Paint front door
      Paint garage interior
      Remove wallpaper in dining room
      Haul away debris.
Homeowner hired outside contractors to complete other work before we were completed including a window and door installer as well as a stair lift chair that hindered our ability to finish project.
      Thank you
