In 2002 I had my car shipped from ** to ** by Stateway. All went well, I was happy. On May 17, 2004 I contacted Stateway to move the car back from ** to **. I texted with ********************* in 2022 and 2024. I did not hesitate when she asked for a deposit, I sent $695 by ***** on May 19, 2024. From then until June 3rd she kept telling me sorry, she was too busy to arrange a pickup date for my car. Finally on June 11th I told her it had been too long, I cancelled my order and asked for my deposit back. No response from **** so I went to Stateway's website several times. Their chat robot told me that would get back to me. No response.Initial Complaint

Request to ship an automobile was submitted on 3/29/22 and a deposit of $295 was paid via Zelle.Order# ******* cancelled on April 11, 2022 because no carrier was assigned to transport the vehicle. Please note that we are entitled to a full refund since the contract states:"In the event the Customer chooses to cancel after a carrier has been assigned, scheduled and dispatched to the vehicle(s) pick-up location, a one hundred dollar cancellation fee, will be imposed and collected by Stateway Transportation. In addition, Stateway Transportation reserves the right to refuse the transport of any vehicle(s), in such event Customer will be fully refunded the original deposit. Upon cancellation the deposit will be refunded in full within 7 business days (9 regular days)."In this case a carrier had not been assigned in a timely manner as our order was placed on 3/29/2022 and the order was cancelled before a carrier was assigned, scheduled and dispatched to the vehicle pick-up location. Therefore, I am entitled to the full refund by Zelle or check. I will also note that I have attached a screenshot of correspondence with you indicating Zelle was the method in which to remit the deposit.I requested the refund on 4/11/22, the day the order was cancelled. On 5/2/22 Stateway Auto Transport indicated a check has been issued to refund the deposit and it was mailed to my address. As of June 19, 2022 the check has not arrived. The company was contacted on June 1, 2022 to let them know that the check did not arrive. At that point the check was supposed to be canceled and reissued. On June 1st the response was "I'm out of town for a week." No response since that time.
