I would also give ZERO starts if I could. This company and card are a joke. DO NOT, I repeat DO NOT obtain this card if you value your sanity and money. The customer service is EXTREMELY POOR. The reps are rude and not very smart. They don't understand English very well and lie to you the supervisors are the same. They don't know what they are doing, don't understand English and make up answers as they go along. I requested a review of the recorded calls and I have heard nothing from the, I guess they don't want to admit to the terrible service and lies that I called them out on. AGAIN, RUN don't walk. STAY AWAY. This company should be closed immediately!!!!Review from William P

i received a application in the mail, i applied and that's when the problems started, 1st issue they need you to verify your identity, by providing either a picture of your id and the back barcode threw your phone or computer, good luck with that because they use, A I looking at these picture, and if it is not perfectly taken it won't let you pass until you do so, and if you don't get passed, there is nothing you can do, calling customer service cant help you, with that, all they say is try again, and this it, so i spent 20 minutes trying to verify my id , and it did not happened, so i canceled my application, what a joke of a company, not even amex , citi, ***** and discover do this type of bs to apply for a card.Review from Luis P

Crooks and Thieves! I had a personal loan from Avant that I balance transferred to another bank in June. Avant claimed they never received the check for ****** dollars even though the check was cashed by Avant. I have spoken to several representatives and given proof with no luck. Meanwhile my credit has taken a dive and I am expected to pay on two loans of over ****** while no one over at Avant can tell me where the money that was cashed by their company went. I will have to spend more money to get a lawyer involved to find out what happened to my money. Do not do business with a company that cannot even track things within their own systems.Review from Timothy M

Filled out a credit card application on October 25th stating it was 0 annual fee Received the confirmation email saying that there was an annual fee. I have called numerous times and they refuse to cancel the card and I should wait to get the card pay the annual fee then try to cancel it. Today is October 27th.Review from Susan A

At least you kept your fortune. My husband and I are senior DAV Veterans. This scum tricked us and has stolen our wealth. We have no one helping us. I am turning them into the VA benefits system tonight. They intimidated my cancer ridden stroke paralyzed husband. I tried suing them for mitigation only. They lawyered up! Moved it to regular docket. I have no lungs from mold asbestos etc.. in court a lawyer exposed me to perfume shutting my lungs down respiratory distress! They are maggots not worthy of cat fish bate. Rot in flames. Scum. Back to submitting my proof. Aka ***** aka The Werks! When you are housebound time is on ones side! AARP article is very enlightening. Fortunately pigs we get fresh money every month and you will be found. Enjoy prison scum. I have proof. Warning.Review from Carrie C

I've had the Avant credit card for 3 years, small $500 limit with a $39 annual fee that I didn't mind paying as I'm rebuilding my credit. I get an email today saying they are adding a monthly fee that totals $108 for the year on top of the annual fee and I can reject the fee if I want but they'll close the account. Well go ahead and close it because that's robbery. Way to take advantage of your customers **********************!Review from wendy k

I wish there was a no star option, because, in my opinion, that is what this card deserves. A few months ago they started charging me a service fee of $4.99. No one can seem to explain what this charge is for exactly. It seems that it is not for anything in particular, just to have the account open whether or not there's a balance. This is in addition to an annual fee, if you have one, and the interest charged. I would have never applied for this card had I known that they were going to change the terms on me.Review from William N

Not worth the hassle. The interest rate isnt worth it. Never issued payment increase. I closed the account and set up automatic payments for a specific amount to get this account paid off and they withdrew funds from my checking out without my approval. Not worth the hassle when there are other options available.Review from Anna Marie D

Attempted to use card online and it was denied due to a typo on my part. Tried again and again and again. Denied the transaction 3 times. **************** was a joke. Told me I was trying to do a cash advance the first time, then said I was using a square card reader which again they were wrong. Then they told me to contact the merchant and have them enter the info manually to complete my purchase. I don't give a rats $$$ what the merchant uses to process payments. The ********** logo is accepted world wide but just not with Avant. I canceled my card immediately **************** of course is outsourced to another country! I was wanting to close my Avant credit card. I called and requested a payoff statement multiple times and they refused to give me one so I could know exactly the amount I needed to pay off. I finally paid off the account balance from my mobile app, which is the only thing I could get from them and I closed my account. I paid it off to a zero balance and they are still coming after me for interest that was from months ago when I had a balance and before I paid it off. They are calling it trailing interest. So I now have to pay interest this month and next month on money that I never spent on the card and if I don't they will send it to collections and I will have a bad **** on my credit. This company is crooked and completely trash. **************** is garbage. There is no benefit for a person to get this card. This company needs to go out of business. This is extortion.
