My mother passed September 16 2022. I have been waiting for a copy of her death certificate from Leak and Sons Funeral Home. I've called multiple times and have been given the run around. Today I've been on hold over 20 minutes. They can't even find any record of my mother as if they did not handle her body.Business response

Good evening, you emailed me earlier this morning. That email was the first time that I knew about the death certificates being late to you. I immediately responded to you. I then went to the county and got the death certificates for you. I then emailed you and told you that the death certificates were at our Cottage Grove location. You did not respond. I also sent you a screenshot of when we ordered the death certificates a few weeks ago. I am not sure why they did not come. But they were ordered and paid for several weeks ago. You have three death certificates at our cottage Grove location waiting for you. Our office is open 9 am to 9pm to obtain them.Customer response

Better Business Bureau:I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and find that this resolution is satisfactory to me. The responses provided to me via email by the business came off as short as they were one word responses. Furthermore the tracking number provided to me showed my mother's death certicates were delivered back on Dec 12, 2022 and no one seemed to pick them up. Furthermore, i received the run around for months. I was even promised by a young lady at the funeral home's death certificate department 5 death certificates since it was taking so long but that obviously was an empty promise. Hopefully this business can handle things much better in the future for other clients.Sincerely,*****************************
