I had a dog training consultation with *****, the owner of Dog Training & Grooming Downers Grove, March 18th, 2024. I have a 4 yo Beagle mix that I wanted help training the basics (come, stay, lay, walking good on the leash and to stop jumping and barking when playing with my son). ***** met ****** and said their training program would address all of these issues by dropping my dog in their care twice a week, with four personal training sessions to teach me what ****** has learned to continue this work at home. ****** started the training program the next week. I signed a contract and setup automatic payments to be taken once a month ($2500 total). ****** attended training weekly and I had three of the four personal training sessions. Each training session was a different trainer and each one asked me what I wanted ****** to learn, then they would teach me what I can do to train him. During this stretch, ****** got kennel cough from the establishment to which I had to take him to the vet. After the third training, with only one left, I called ***** to ask fro a refund on my last payment and the next one as the business did not train my dog in any way. ***** said I should not have had a different trainer each class and was going to speak to his team. Two weeks passed with no call from ***** and they took the final payment from my account. I called back and ***** was wondering what the reason was. I reminded him of our conversation and asked him what his trainers said to which he had no response. I asked him what ****** has learned from the trainers and he didn't know. I told him he was not keeping his end of the deal and asked for a refund for my last two payments again, to which he said no. He offered me 5 extra sessions. I told him I do not trust his business as it got my dog sick and no one can tell me anything ****** has learned. I am a single dad on a budget and this is costly for me, to which I truly needed professional dog help. Please help!
