I enrolled in their program for $5300. after week one i was able to easily obtain my permit because the classroom instructor was professionally adequate. after that first week though, the yard training was a joke. id get there at 7am a never see an instructor until almost 9. and then break at 10. the lunch break always took over an hour. there was 5 or more students per instructor so i wasnt able to get nowhere close to adequate in truck time. the instructors were rude and lazy. after 3 attempts i wasnt able to get my CDL. I wasnt able to get any more support from 160. I believe i was overcharged and not given what was advertised. I definitely didnt use $5300 of their resources.

In November of 2023 I failed my initial drug screening and could not return to class until I completed my Substance Abuse Program & passed another drug screening, which *********************** said would likely take only a week. I completed the program and went back to class at the end of December 2023 and was almost completely done with it on January 31st so I went to speak with my branch manager, ***********************, to get an understanding of what to expect in the coming weeks dealing with my testing and my remaining class hours. She notified me that I have not completed my clearinghouse registration which I should have done before I went back to class yet I was unaware of. So I was placed on hold yet again with only 4 hours of class remaining to finish the course until I have my clearinghouse registration completed. While my clearinghouse still says my follow-up testing plan is incomplete, It also states that I am no longer prohibited from operating a CMV. It is February 23rd and *********************** and my SAP, whom she referred me to, has not been very communicative nor professional to help get this issue resolved yet I have paid both businesses and am still unsure about the next step to get this issue resolved. Neither parties want to speak with one another and are leaving me as the middle person yet both are accusing others of lying and not doing what they need to do. I have been removed from the office by *********************** without reasoning and have still been very composed while just trying to finish class.

Last summer, I enrolled in 160 Driving Academy in *****************, with a private loan from Ascent Funding. They told me they were the best truck driving school, walked me through the Ascent funding application, and had me starting school the following Monday. The first week of school was 8 hours of instructional videos, mostly ******* videos about truck driving, with no in-person instructor. After that we started meeting at a gravel parking lot that had two semi trucks, that were in very poor condition. The instructors would barely show. And if they did, they were too many students for them to handle. I literally worked with an actual instructor only 2 of the days I was enrolled there, and not consecutive days either. Most days someone would just give us the truck keys and leave. Also, we were outside in the elements: rain, heat, etc. The course is advertised as a 160 hour course, but there were many students that were actually there for over 6 months, and one guy close to one year. I made complaints to the instructors and the office, and things became worse for me because I was labeled a so-called snitch after that. I decided that school was not for me, attempted to make a formal withdrawal, but they have no withdrawal process. The office manager told me that hes just gonna unenroll me in his computer, and thats it. My dilemma today is owing the loan balance to Ascent. Its taken big a toll on my credit. I owe thousands for absolutely nothing. Honestly, Im not willing to pay that loan off, because I received nothing from it. I entered that school naively, and was prayed upon as a result. Im seeking to have 160 Driving Academy fully refund the loan amount directly to Ascent. And I would also need to get this removed from my credit report. I notified Ascent realtime as this was going on. They were not very helpful either. I spoke with someone who could barely speak english. I think it was an overseas call center.

I recently completed my training at 160 Driving Academy in ********, and unfortunately, my experience left much to be desired. While the instructors were undoubtedly the highlight of the school, the overall condition of the facilities, particularly the yard, was deplorable.Firstly, upon arrival, I was shocked to find the yard in a dilapidated state. The presence of abandoned buildings and trucks scattered around the premises painted a grim picture of neglect. It's disheartening to see such disregard for the upkeep of the training environment. Moreover, my frustration was compounded when I was denied the opportunity to retake my driving test. Despite having completed the necessary training and securing funding for a $5000 ***** from WorkOne, I was informed that my additional $350 voucher would not be accepted due to the test ********* personal grievances. I find it perplexing that a private phone call, which I conducted politely, could somehow offend the ******* and hinder my ability to take the test.To make matters worse, ****, the sole test ******* at the location, is refusing to conduct my test, leaving me with no choice but to seek alternative testing facilities. Despite my efforts, the school has offered no assistance in finding a resolution or guiding me through the necessary steps. In conclusion, while the instructors at 160 Driving Academy in ********, are commendable, the dismal condition of the facilities and the lack of support in crucial matters such as test scheduling and resolution of issues have left me deeply disappointed. I would caution others considering this institution to thoroughly assess their options before enrolling.Overall, my experience with 160 Driving Academy in ********, was highly unsatisfactory, and I cannot recommend it to others.Sincerely,******

I started 160 driving school in November and my experience has been terrible since day 1. *********************** is rude and unprofessional and is very unhelpful once she receives payment. My course was paid for by a state program and 160 is suppose to report my time each week and its always a hassle to get that done. I have to call multiple times and they say they will get it done and its never done. I reached out to ******* on 2/6/24 and she informed me my attendance had been taken care of already. I had to call back on 2/7/24 because it was indeed not taken care of and she got on the phone and told me she would appreciate if I stopped calling and I informed her that I wouldnt have to call if they did what they said. The ****** truck yard has portable toilets and the trucks are always down so learning is very slow because its so many people trying to learn with little to no trucks working. The school is only in it for the money and they dont care about anything else.

On July 27 ********************* the yard manager tried to fight me because I asked the secretary to speak to his boss about how I was being treated when she finally got to work she had to separate us and he was saying racist things in from of her. They do not help with training they want us students to teach ourselves and they just sit in the office all day, but I really need help with maneuvers and no one is willing to train me and now they are refusing to let me test basically wasted my money and time Im at 132 hours out of 160 if you not going to teach me release my hours so I can hire someone else this is the worst professionalism I have seen they kept my evaluation on my folder so everybody can see it including the students trying to embarrass somebody

So I started 160 back in October 2022. I did a week in class training. Next I went to the yard to learn how to drive a tractor trailer. 1st we get this stack of papers that states we need to learn pre-trip, incab, skills and H3332313936343338373*H. So to be very honest the students teach themselves pre-trip incab. (I did anyway) the school said I did over 18* hours ask me how? Do not know but anyway. I had 20 hours of road and maybe max * hours of skills. I came to the school to learn. Not to teach myself! So now let me fast forward. Now Im scheduled for testing and I failed skills. The school waited a whole month for me to test again. Then I let them know what my problem was with skills and I need major help! What they tell me is that 160 do not do back to back testing. So now the manger makes a deal with me that I can test 2 more times so remind you Im still having problems with skills! So then they schedule me 2 weeks out agin remember I still need help with skills. So now me and the yard manager get into it because he told me to come back next Friday and I will test you. Well I should up to get humiliated and he tells me I did not tell you that ok so now I call his boss and his boss tells me how did you get my personal phone number I told him the office gave it to me he said you are not supposed to call this number. So I said the number that I was calling you was not answering. So he hung up and told me that the branch manger will give me another date but it will not be tomorrow! Ok fine still again I need help on skills (offset) and parallel parking . ****** had me come in the day before testing to grasp skills because I can not come in for 2 days(like everyone else does) because I already went over my hours. So now I have failed for the 3rd time and The yard manager told me in order for me to come back I would need to pay again. So I called my program that I am in to let them know. They approved to pay for me to get more learning in with skills and 160 denied it!
