My husband and I booked our wedding at this venue in September 2020 and had been making monthly payments since November of 2020 up until march 2022. We then received an email from their attorney in mid march 2022 stating our wedding was cancelled due to unforeseen circumstances and that we would be receiving a full refund. It is now September 2022 and we’ve receive no money back and the venue or their attorney will not return any calls. We have paid $15k for this wedding that was due to happen June 18, 2022.Initial Complaint

On July 2nd, 2021, my fiancé and I paid Norris Outdoor Adventure the sum of $5,001 with a check to have our wedding there on May 21st, 2022. The planning calls for the wedding were supposed to be during the last 2 weeks of February 2022. Since then, I have received no contact from her, despite sending multiple emails and text messages. The contract we signed states that we are staying at the lodge the weekend of May 20th, 2022 and that the following services will be included: Officiant 3 tiered cake plus a sheet cake for 100 guests ** **** ****** and decorations($600 budget with ***** ***** ************ ** ***** ******* Event planning and coordination Full event venue set up for up to 200 guests I emailed the wedding planner from ***** ***** ************ ********* *****) and she informed me that she is not booked for any weddings with Norris Outdoor Adventure this year. I believe that the owner of Norris Outdoor Adventure has every intent to take our money and not let us have our wedding there, due to past reviews of her establishment and posts I have been seeing on social media from other individuals who have paid her to have their weddings there as well. I would like the venue owner to refund our money.Initial Complaint

We booked this venue in October of 2021 and paid in full. I confirmed we were all set November 29th, 2021 and got a text from *** ********* saying, "Yes, of course! See you next month!". We spent $4500 on 5 nights. We arranged an entire family trip of 24 people traveling across the country to stay in this place. We had a bus picking us up here for events, had several private rentals arranged around our stay here (trying to be COVID friendly), and had our whole family excited to finally see one another. Imagine my shock when I wake up this morning (December 20th!) to find out our reservation starting December 24th (4 days notice!!!) was cancelled. *** ********* claimed she had suddenly gotten sick. I wrote back wishing her well with her illness and letting her know that we'd happily take care of everything (washing sheets, cleaning the place, etc.). I honestly was borderline begging her and telling her all we needed was the key, insisting that we'd have no options as a group of 24 four days before Christmas. I asked her to please work with us- we'd make sure it as doable for her with her sickness. She ignored my calls, texts and emails.
