We hired Mr ****************** to install a privacy fence. Poles concrete toppers gates panels etc. $5000 June 21, 2022 Handed him cash. He gave us a receipt(contract)paid in full with all the items listed for fence. Never heard from him again. My husband reached out to him end of the year 2022. We got excuses. Spring of 2023 we reached out again. Asking about the fence. More excuses. To wet, to hot, to cold, employees or lack there of, tired, kids are sick, mower in the pond, and the list goes on. In April I made a ******** public post (no names on post) that he seen. He sent two guys out immediately to dig the holes. We got 3-4 panels the following week (one guy alone for a hour). Another 4-5 panels the next week (again at the end of the day). Then NOTHING. But deep holes down our driveway for months. we eventually had to put caution cones in front of. several text messages back and forth for months we got two poles installed in Aug 2023. That ended up being the wrong poles. And led to more text messages again with same run around. At this point we become very frustrated. We no longer have the energy to entertain anymore messages. In October 2023 we get four poles. Just sitting in the holes. No concrete just freestanding. We get a city official asking for our permit. We text the ****************** asking for the permit. He says he will have it right away. Still no permit. We are using a baby gate in our backyard for our dogs. And luckily we didnt remove the existing fence outside of this fence yet! It is now January 15th, 2024. I have zero intention on texting Mr ****************** again. This is the shortest version of what actually happened. We just want ALL OUR MONEY BACK at this point. We feel lied to and robbed. And need to hire someone else to finish the job he started 19 months ago. We will be pursuing further attempts if this post doesnt help get us what is owed! visiting the BBB reviews we see we werent the only ones he took advantage of.Business response

June 15th we hired Mance Outdoor Solutions to do concrete work at our house. To "secure the cost of product" (per Mance) we supplied **** Mance with $2200 that day as a down payment. As of November 10, we have yet to get any work done at our home. The check we provided was cashed immediately. So fast in fact that although we transferred money electronically to cover the check the bank still called to verify as it still hadn't been processed by the bank yet. The work to be provided was a driveway addition (concrete) Mance Outdoor has never attempted to contact us directly to give us a direct installation date or excuse for not beginning work. Any communication has started by us. We get an unintelligible text back and some other excuse. We have requested our down payment returned and that has not happened either. Per a direct call to him yesterday he promised to be on site today and did not arrive. At this point I believe **** Mance has committed fraud and theft. I plan to reach out to the states attorney's office for next steps towards possible criminal charges, but am hoping that the BBB can assist in resolving this prior. I would either like my down payment back or for him to do the work. Either way to put an end to this chapter. I signed a contract with this company for work at my home on 9/20/22. They were going to replace my driveway with concrete. I gave them a down payment of $1500.00. And he has been giving me the runaround ever since. He has used the weather for an excuse, his machine wouldn**;t start and others. I spoke to him last on Friday. He said he would come over and get started on it but I haven**;t heard from him and he didn**;t show. He has also not applied for a permit to do the job which he said he would do. I have checked with building inspector**;s office. About a week ago he did send someone out who took about 1.5 feet out at the bottom of the driveway; he piled the debris in the driveway, making it useless. I called and complained and someone came and took some of it away but left the majority of it.Customer response

We hired Mance Outdoor Solutions on May 8, 2022. **** Mance wanted a check. We gave him $1800.00 on May 12, 2022. He cashed the check immediately. Two months go by nothing is started. Finally after a few texts he sends an employee to our house to seal our driveway for $300. The employee splattered tar all over my garage door and siding. **** Mance was told about this and never came to clean up. This was July 18, 2022. So many excuses. We wanted a concrete stamped sidewalk and a space in backyard filled in with concrete. Too wet, too hot. Employee problems. Equipment problems. We have asked for a refund several times. He keeps telling us it will get done. Always a problem. He sends an employee to set forms up for sidewalk. Never got finished. **** came out and dug out spot in backyard and cracked a chunk off of a sidewalk with his backhoe. Then ran over our retaining wall bricks and got it out of alignment. Never came back to fix. Now there is a concrete shortage. Not true. We have called several places. We want our money back. Eveytime we ask for a refund. He always insists it will get done this week. Never happens. We want our money back so we can get this project done. This is beyond ridiculous. Our patience has run out. He gave us a so called contract that was never signed.
