My husband and I drove to ******** from ******* and purchased a vehicle on 9/21/24. In the course of negotiations, we were told that the $854 Title Fee and $27 License Fee was non-negotiable and they were required to collect this money by the State of Indiana, where we live. Further research into this matter reveals that the fees Indiana will charge to title the car is no where near this amount. Additionally, it is now 11/2/24, we have yet to receive any indication that the application for title has been sent to the State of Indiana.Business response
11/04/2024
We collect and process license and title through a third party company, please see the attached document for the titling and registration fees. The state of Indiana received the paperwork on 11/01/24 and should be finished before the 90 day temp tag expires.Customer response

Complaint: 22506052
I am rejecting this response because:We just came from the Indiana *** and was told they have no documentation regarding our car. Additionally, Huntley Ford has not responded to my allegations that they forced us to pay unnecessary fees to a third party when this paperwork could have been done ourselves. As the doucment uploaded by Huntley Ford shows, the third party is charging duplicate bogus fees of:
1. Penalty Fee for applying late for the title (which is their fault if they did)2. Admin Fee for also applying for the title after 31 days
3. Local Handling Fee
4. Title Fee
5. Registration Fees
6. and a made up Excise tax because they claim there is no way to know what it will actually be.
We should not have had to pay a third party a random amount only to have our registration delayed. Where is the proof the *** has received our documentation?
Sincerely,
******* ********Business response

Calls from the dealership over and over after I have asked to be removed from their site. I even blocked the phone numbers. But still get calls as they use a computer VOIP phone system. I've asked for my information to be removed from a privacy aspect. Nope, still get calls from very rude, low intelligence level sales people. Thinking I'm going to buy a car from (what I can see by reviews) is the Shadiest, borderline criminal car dealership in the *******. When you read through the canned/paid/bot positive reviews. The real reviews from real past customers, paint the real portrayal of this place. They can be scummy rip-off artists all they want. I just want them to stop calling me. As I will NEVER BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM EVER!Business response

Horrible experience. Seems like what everyone else says about the place is accurate. Beyond likely illegal activity, their service is 0 stars they do not update you on your vehicle and refuse to answer the phone when you are calling to pick up your car. Never ever will spend a dollar there again and **** should revoke their dealer rights.Business response

I am writing to file a complaint against Huntley Ford. I recently purchased a car from them and encountered a series of issues. The day after buying the car, while driving back to ************* (where I reside), the check engine light came on. I contacted Huntley Ford, and they instructed me to take the vehicle to any Ram dealership in ************* since I had purchased a $6,000 warranty with the vehicle.I brought the car to a nearby Ram dealership for repairs. The dealership kept the car for six months, attempting to fix it. They eventually discovered that the cars odometer had been tampered with. The car was sold to me with a reported ****** miles, but the dealership found that it actually has ******* miles. Due to this discrepancy, the warranty I purchased will not cover the repair costs. Moreover, the car is currently not registered and cannot be driven. As a result, I am unable to use the vehicle, yet I am still making monthly payments to the bank.I am seeking assistance in resolving this issue as the vehicle was misrepresented at the time of sale, and I have suffered significant inconvenience and financial loss.Business response

Complaint: 22101688Subject: Rejection of Business Response - Ongoing Issue with Huntley Ford
Dear Better Business Bureau,
Thank you for getting back to me. I truly appreciate the time and effort youve put into addressing this matter.
Unfortunately, the business has not contacted me. In fact, Im the one who has been reaching out to them via text, email, and phone calls. When I do call, they either dont answer or hang up on me. Theyve shown no interest in helping me resolve this issue from the very start. I purchased the truck from Huntley Ford last year, and its been broken ever since. Despite my repeated attempts to work with them, they have been completely unresponsive. Now, theyre telling you I havent responded? Thats simply not true.
Ive been paying $1,300 each month for a truck thats just sitting in my yard because it doesnt run. On top of the mechanical issues, Gengras Dodge and ***, who worked on the truck, discovered that the odometer had been tampered with before the sale. Huntley Ford sold me a truck with an altered odometer. Im going broke because of this vehicle, and I need to either return it, get it fixed, or stop the payments.
I am rejecting Huntley Fords response because they have not contacted me to solve the problem. The truck is still sitting in my driveway, broken, and the issue remains unresolved. Ive attached the following documents:
The purchase agreement from Huntley Ford
Repair reports from Gengras Dodge and Ram, detailing the discovery of the odometer tampering.
Thank you again for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,

I reached out to ****** and spoke on the phone on 8/22/24 at roughly 11:30 am and followed up with email as well. I am asking for some supporting documentation of his issue with the vehicle and have asked either for it to be emailed to me of uploaded here so that I can work on a solution. So far, no evidence of this issue has been provided to allow me to do so. Please provide any documentation or evidence of this issue so that I can help.Initial Complaint

7/5/24 False Pricing 2024 Mustang was listed for $54,000 on their internet site but was told at Huntley that the price was now $70,000. $4,000 for leather & paint protection, $4,000 for dealer mark up $850 for nitro air &serial number etching, taxes & license fees, registration etc. Told I had to buy it now before it would be detailed or dealer inspection because someone else could buy it. The price was based on financing the vehicle & not cash. No where was that disclosed. Then thousand of dollars later they got it financed at 9% even with my credit rating of 800. Filled out the paper work just to get the car & then paid the car off in one payment to avoid the finance charges! The internet listed two similar vehicles so I would have a choice but the second car was wrong, Oops listing mistake! Arrived at 1:15 for a 1:30 appointment. Then was harassed, lied to and bullied for the next 5 hours. Told more times than I can count that I would be next but they were busy so just sit and wait. All with the intention of wearing you down now so you would accept their offer. My complaints about their poor business model were ignored, Jaelyn was professional but part of the bad deed **** was the ring leader and master of excuses. The finance manager was arrogant! I bought the car but I had to stand up to there bs & refused all their ad ons But they get you on finance & some undisclosed dealer market up, In summary my complaint is one of false advertising. You search the internet for the car and price. Then Huntley Ford has a systematic plan of delays, excuses and bulling to get every last dollar. To not be transparent that the price does not include mandatory financing and a $4,000 dealer market up is wrong. The car industry is famous for leather & paint protection deals. Huntley Ford takes it to another ugly level of depiction and false advertising! Dealer mark up beyond listing & financing were completely undisclosed this pattern of abuse should be stoppedBusiness response

We appreciate constructive criticism about the sales process and will take the issues with wait times and customer satisfaction into account to try and provide a better customer experience moving forward, it is not our intention to wear consumers down with down time. Vehicles on our lot are all presented for purchase with optional protection packages, and there is no dealer markup on pre-owned vehicles.Customer response

Complaint: 22090946
I am rejecting this response because: I paid a $1,000+ dealer markup over the posted advertised internet price on my used 2024 Mustang. I was told that the charges were to cover advertising, detailing car and inspection. They first asked for a $4,000 markup and we negotiate down to $1,000. The title clearly reflects it was a used car.

I bought a 2021 Jeep Cherokee vin# ***************** from Huntley Ford on 5/25/24 The car was listed and bought at $19972. The salesperson, *** *******, showed my wife and I the fees. We waived all optional fees. He had me sign a price agreement at his desk, agreeing to buy the car at the listed price with only the required fees. He had us wait for ***** ******* who had me sign the paperwork. He asked if we wanted the paperwork printed or emailed, we chose both. When going through the paperwork after, the numbers werent adding up. We contacted both *** and *****. *** had us use his personal email and cell phone, his work email comes back undeliverable. We noticed a page was missing from both the printed and emailed paperwork. They sent the missing page on 6/14. It was the itemized list, Page 2 of 5 from Retail Installment Contract. It was not given to us the day of purchase. It shows the loan is not for the correct/agreed upon price. We asked that they either explain the numbers to us, or agree there was a mistake in the financing and fix it. We asked to see the price agreement page that I signed, stating I was buying the car at listed price. We asked them to break down the car cost total, showing the car listing price and fees. They did not.Per the paperwork, that car would cost $30,214.38, before interest. The missing page shows a finance amount of *********; we paid ****** by check. Title shows 26###.We have heard nothing in over a month. On 6/14 I received a phone call from *** ******* on his personal cell. He asked if I would be willing to take $2,000 "to make this problem go away". When I declined, as they were over charging me by much more, especially with interest, *** stated that they already had my signature on the contract and there was nothing I could do. I told him that it wasn't the amount we agreed upon and the amount clearly was changed. He said he would ask his GM and he would call me back. He never called back and will not answer any emails.Business response

Complaint: 22024994
I am rejecting this response because:We are still trying to come to a resolution. They are offering an amount that is less than the amount owed to me. Their last offer was for $4161.38, which was a number I had come up with BEFORE they finally sent me documents showing the car price, taxes and fees individually. This new document, sent on Wednesday August 21st, shows they charged me an incorrect price for the car, and for a package added to it that we did not buy/receive. It is a document we have never seen before, was not in the original paperwork, and I did not sign, even though there's a signature on it.
The amount owed to me is much higher than $4,000. Using this new document, they overcharged us by: $7,731.96, before loan interest.
I attached the bill of sale they sent me, showing the car listed incorrectly at $23,065 when it was really listed at $19,972. I explained the incorrect amounts in my last email to them that I also attached.

Complaint: 22024994
I am rejecting this response because: I have sent emails stating how Huntley needs to resolve this. Which is either cut me a check for $7,731.96 or credit that to my financial account. But everytime I hear back from them, all they ask is how they can resolve this. I don't believe they are trying to make this right, they are just dragging this out. I did let them know that I have contacted a law firm to see how we can proceed with this case.

Complaint: 22024994
I am rejecting this response because: As of *****-24 i still have not received the money they said they were going to pay me. I was told that they would overnight the check to me once I signed the paperwork and give me a tracking number from ***** so i knew when it was coming. I signed on 09-27-24 and have not gotten it yet. I reached out to ***** on 09-30-24 and he said it would be sent out on *****. Again as of ***** i still haven't received a tracking number or anything about the check being sent. If i don't receive the money in the next couple of days then I'm going to call the lawyer again and see what we need to do from here. So yes we have reached an agreement, I'm just waiting for Huntley to uphold it's end of the deal. So until I get the money this case will remain unresolved.

Inquired online about purchasing a vehicle. Sales team was very persistent about me coming in to test drive the vehicle and would not provide me an out the door price. Drove over an hour to the dealership only to find out the vehicle was in service. I continued to get calls from the online sales team to come view the truck while talking to another salesman who said the truck was not available. One week later the truck is ready for purchase . The vehicle was still filthy and had yet to be cleaned. I was able to test drive the vehicle but was informed they were awaiting parts for the vehicle and it would have to be brought back or picked up at a later date. Now the largest issue bait and switch. The advertised online price was 37K when we were finally able to discuss the price it jumped to 50K! Well above the standard tax, title, and documentation fees. I was informed they price the vehicles when purchased from auction and add dealer prep fees. This is the only dealership I have ever seen add these fees to a used vehicle. Even in the fine print on the website there is no mention of this fee. This dealer will not allow you to purchase a vehicle with cash, they will only allow you to use their financing company with the requirement to make at least 3 payments prior to paying off the vehicle.Business response

Online price was $37,777 not $37,000. Furthermore, customer only offered to pay $40,000 total which will not even cover Taxes on the vehicle. Customer was advised our online prices are non-negotiable. If customer is still interested in any of our cars and ready to move forward at the online price, he can reach back out to us and we will be happy to assist.

Complaint: 22019946
I am rejecting this response because:
Rounded price for simplicity. Dealership was unwilling to sell vehicle for advertised sale price and normal tax, title, and doc fee. Dealership added fees to the vehicle price outside of normal sales practice that were not disclosed in any advertising fine print.Additionally requiring customers to use in house financing vs paying cash for a vehicle is not standard practice and should be disclosed prior to showing a vehicle.

On 6/22/24 my husband and I went to Huntley Ford. We identified a vehicle we wanted to purchase, agreed to a purchase price and an agreed upon price for our trade vehicle. We put down a $6000 deposit on the vehicle and both signed an "order". We took the vehicle home but without signing anything else as their systems were down. On 7/7/24 we returned to Huntley Ford as we were told the computers were up and running. Prior to this I had reached out to our sales rep and told him that not only was the check engine light on but it was giving us a drivetrain malfunction error. I had told the sales rep we wanted to cancel the sale and get our other vehicle back. We walked in and was met by our sales rep that said "there are no returns", which we stated we aren't returning as we never owned the vehicle as nothing was signed. He got his manager and he came over. He said we could have our other vehicle back but we weren't getting the deposit. When my husband asked about getting our $6000 back the manager said to us **** me then". This dealership also had our vehicle publicly listed for sale when it wasn't theres to sell yet, no paperwork was signed, no payment agreement executed, no odometor agreements, no agreement to payoff our vehicle we were trading in. Furthermore, the "order" that they are claiming is a bill of sale was never dated nor signed by Huntley Ford, only us. When I mentioned that to him, he took his copy and signed it in front of a bunch of sales ********* left as we didn't want to get yelled at or talked down to any further. We have our original car and they have their vehicle. So, why should they keep our funds? What is the $6000 for?Business response
