**** from Mr. Electric assessed an issue with the fuse box at my house. **** had told me he was from *********************, but now says he has no ties to that company. **** said the fuse box needed to be replaced urgently and that the issues were caused by a storm. I asked **** for a quote, but he said he would have to write that up and that I should run it through my insurance company. (The typical cost for this job is $2,500 max.) ** told me he was an approved vendor for State Farm and that this would be covered. **** told me that I would need to pay $1,000 and he would get started, and that everything else could get sorted out later. I submitted all documents for various storm damages to State Farm that I had. **** never provided me with a quote nor invoice despite my repeated requests. ** knows this is a rental property and I live out of state. I was not present during the work. **** said he would write up an invoice AFTER I sent him the check from the insurance company. State Farm said they received the invoice that I sent in from ****'s Electric. But, I never sent State Farm an invoice from ****'s Electric. I never authorized **** to bypass me and send an unapproved invoice to my insurance company. **** also did not tell me that he had done so. The adjuster told me that the invoice they received was for $10,000, which is 4x what is expected. **** later told me that he works for Mr. Electric instead and demanded I mail payment to them, however he sent me his personal home address for the payment. I contacted insurance fraud attorneys and the police. The company: Sent an unapproved invoice to my insurance company without my knowledge nor consent. Tried to obtain money for an invoice I did not approve and scam me into paying them 4x the maximum acceptable amount for their work, by bypassing me and requesting monies directly from my insurance company. Allowed **** to misrepresent himself in person and on invoices Is allowing **** to harass and threaten meBusiness response
