We hired him to do a job and he took half of our money . Cashed the check and then didnt finish it do it the color that was approved . He only returned ******Business response

I am sorry for the delay in my response. We had a medical emergency which hindered my availability.
In regard to this matter. We had performed the work that the client had hired us to do. We sanded the floors and then applied the color stain that the customer herself had chosen. She loved the color. The following day that had not changed. She still loved it, so we applied the 1st coat of polyurethane. The second day after the stain had been applied (which was technically the 3rd day of the job) Last day of the job and the final coat. She informs me that they do not like it and would like me to resand the entire job at no cost to them.
If this had been an error on my part, I would have been glad to fix the error at my expense. However, they chose the color and liked it till the end. I informed them I could not do that.
Due to not being able to come to an agreement, I cancelled the job and reimburse them the money for the remain part of the job that I did not complete.
They insisted they wanted a full refund and would send me to BBB and ruin any promotional ads and put out a negative word about my business. They are sabotaging my social media every chance they get and slandering our business names with lies.
I have refunded them $400 thru Zelle the same day the job had cancelled.
I have a business and a family. I cannot work for free. I did what I was hired to do and due to there indecisiveness and uncompromising way. It was best to terminate the job and refund the difference.
