I wish I had read these reviews before going here. My experience was with the Lombard location. I was told they could put sleeves on almost any dress which was something that I needed and why I bought there. I chose a dress and talked extensively with the sales person about what kind of sleeve. Her way of measuring me was to have me put a dress on from the same company, it fit so that was the size she ordered. Thought it a little strange but I dont go into bridal shops for clothes, so it was ordered. The dress was due in the middle of July. That day came and went with no call to update me. I called and was told it hadnt been cut yet., it would be another two weeks. That day came and went with no call from anyone. I called a third time and a few days later the dress finally came in one month late. The wedding date is sept 7, now it is august, the dress is two sizes too small and no material was ever ordered for the sleeves. They called the manufacturer and they could get me a dress one week after the wedding. The only person who said anything to me was the seamstress. Not once did my salesperson come into the dressing room to apologize or tell me what was/ could be done. They called the manager who never answered and never once called me to apologize. I had to go out the next day and find a sample dress that I could get immediately since the wedding was just a few weeks away. I had to go into the store to get my refund and again not a single apology, they wouldnt even look me in the eye. Stay far,far away from this place. You would get better customer service at *******. If I could have this would be a zero star review but they dont let you do that.House of Brides Couture Response

We appreciate the review and apologize for any inconvenience to the customer. The customer purchased a special order occasions dress on June 24th with an event date of September 7th. Special order means the dress is not available in-stock or off the rack. Instead, the designer makes the dress according to the style, size and color of the order. The customer tried on a size 14 sample at the store that fit slightly snug. She chose to order a size 16. The customer selects and is responsible for the size ordered. The customer discussed adding sleeves to the dress, which the consultant confirmed we can add the sleeves upon receipt of the dress and in alterations. Typically, standard production for this style is approximately 8-weeks. The customer chose the rush delivery option, which means the designer will make the dress under their standard delivery time frame. We place the order the same or next business day. The designer confirmed and estimated the order to finish production for mid-July. This time frame is an estimate only and can change according to the designer's production schedule. The designer completed production approximately towards the end of July and the order was shipped and received at House of Brides Couture in ******* August 5th. A representative contacted the customer and scheduled her fitting appointment. The customer came in and tried the dress on with the Alterations Manager. The dress arrived as ordered but fit tight. It appeared the customer gained weight since her purchase. The designer did not have a lager size available by the event date and the customer did not want to address the fit in alterations. The Alterations Manager explained again we add sleeves during alterations and we had the fabric available. However, the customer was unsatisfied with the tight fit of the dress and requested a refund. We refunded the customer.Review from Melissa C

I shopped here for my wedding gown and bought it, paid in full with veil and headpiece in March 2023. 2 weeks later I lost my job. Devastating. I have 4 young children. I called to cancel my order and I was told, sorry there are no refunds. Fast forward 2 months later. My dress and accessories still have not come in. I now don't have enough money to feed my children or pay my mortgage. This purchase maxed out my Credit Card. My Fiance began calling & E-************************ to no avail. If my dress and accessories are still not in, why can i not cancel my order? This place is a scam. They don't care about their customers, just their commission. I do not know what to even do at this point. We have no money to feed our children or pay our mortgage. Thank you house of brides. A special order gown is not available off the rack but instead, made by the designer according to the specific style, size, color and other specifications on the customer's order. ********************** immediately submits our customer orders to our designers, who in turn, puts the order immediately into production overseas. Due to the special nature of our gowns, designers do not accept cancellations upon receipt of an order. Therefore, House of Brides Couture has an All Sales Final policy, which states no cancellations, refunds or returns. This policy is viewable prior to purchase and on the sales contract each customer receives. Your order is in production and estimated to ship from the designer the beginning to middle of June. A representative will contact you upon receipt with notification. Customer Relations is available Monday through Friday 9a - 5p at ********************************************************************* We received your fiance's email on Monday, May 15th and replied immediately. We have since corresponded with you and your fiance on multiple occasions thereafter.
