We hired Abatement Management, Inc. (hereinafter “AMI”) on March 2, 2022 to do testing of floor tiles from my home, my personal residence, for asbestos so that we could update the floors in my house. The cost of this test was about $300. Mr. ******* *****, President of AMI, used ********* ********* ***. as the lab to perform the actual test. The tests came back negative for asbestos and they sent me the report via email on March 4, 2022. We provided that report to the flooring company, but they said that they still would not be able to go forward with the new flooring because the report failed to list the address from where the tested sample came from. We reached out to Mr. ******* ***** to have this minor issue corrected and added to the report around March 25, 2022. He stated over the phone that he could send a text message saying that the report issued to me was in fact for and from my home address. He continued, saying that if the flooring company would not accept the text message, that the only other way that the report could be edited or amended to correct his and his affiliates very simple mistake was for me to start over, and pay him and his company another $300 to perform another test! They made a simple mistake and instead of correcting it, they turned it around on the customer and Mr. ******* ***** expects me, the customer, to pay again to correct his very simple mistake. Unfortunately, it does appear as though we will not have a choice other than to pay a second time, simply to have them add my address to the exact same report. It appears to be money grabbing scheme. It is poor customer service. Myself and my mother, who lives with me, are both senior citizens, and I also see this as him taking advantage of senior citizens! It is unacceptable! We have to pay again in order to have our address listed on the report to have our new floors put in. We want the BBB to be aware of this situation and we are requesting a full refund of BOTH tests. Thank you!

On March 2, 2022 ******** ***** called about having her flooring tested. I informed her that we don't perform sampling of a single floor.

If she wanted to find out if the flooring contained asbestos she could bring a small sample of the flooring to our office, and  we will overnight the sample to the laboratory for analysis. the charge would be $50, she said she would bring a sample.

I told her when she brings the sample to include information about were the sample was taken from, which room, the house address, a email and phone number to send the laboratory analysis report to. Also to bring a check for $50 with the sample.

The sample and a check was dropped off in the box at our office with a check for $50 there was not any of the information that was requested with the sample.

The sample was sent to the laboratory and when the results came back March 4,2022  I called ******** and got her email and sent her the Laboratory results.

March 25, 2022 ******** called and said the flooring company would not accept the lab report because it didn't have her address on the report. I said let me send you a letter to give to the flooring company. I typed a letter and sent it right after I got off the phone call.

The letter stated: "******** *******,  Abatement Management Inc. submitted a flooring sample from **** ******* ******* ***** ** ****** The results were reported to be negative. ******* *****, Owner Abatement Management, Inc. ************"

******** ***** texted me back after receiving the letter, Thank You!!!

That was the last I heard from ******** *****, until I received this complaint.

      ******* *****.

      Complaint: ********

I am rejecting this response because:the address he provided to the BBB was “***** ******* *** That is not correct. I have attached a screenshot of the so-called “letter”, which was actually just a text message, showing the correct address. I may have forgotten to include all the specific information you wanted when first providing the sample, however, the check that was included with the sample DID have the correct address listed on it. Instead of doing your due diligence as a business owner, and following up with your client to get the correct details, you decided to leave everything out instead, and then decided the only other way to fix the problem was to charge me full price, again, and start over. Poor business practice! Plain and simple!

      Sincerely,

      ******** *****
