I hired **** Washburn Construction for a bathroom remodel. The first half of the job was paid by check on 11/26/22. The job was completed and the remainder was paid on 12/8/22 before I had inspected the work. I was not satisfied with the work. Initially, l noticed unfinished baseboards and molding, finishing. I notified **** that evening. He came in and said "it looks like a 5yr old did this" and assured me it would be taken care of. That night the toilet leaked at base. I noticed the vanity was put together askew. There were gouges not plastered over in the sheet rock. Then, i noticed leaking where tub/surround meets wall. Since, I have realized that the surround is simply put on against the studs & insulation with nothing behind it. There were attempts to fix the problems. The toilet was fixed. The leaking has continued around the tub/surround. Basically, I will have to hire someone to redo the surround and, probably, at this point, replace the insulation behind it. I gave **** many opportunities to correct the issues. The baseboards were also finished, but the issue of the surround has never been fixed. I have all our texts save as, well as pictures immediately following construction and after his attempts to correct issues and can provide as needed. This project coming on a year old now. There was a loose toilet and a some caulk which was taken care of. . The pics now are from a shower curtain or door not being shut. She is trying to retaliate for a plumbing she was charged , for a leaking pipe under her slab. We.were.not contacted since last year or beginning of the year.

I am rejecting this response because:
There is no shower door. There is a shower curtain & we close it. This problem has been ongoing & i tried to address & correct with company since completion of work. The bottom line is that the surround was incorrectly installed. To be corrected, it would need to be torn out & redone. They have tried to correct it be , essentially, adding caulk. The extra plumbing is not an issue. Those things happen. The crooked vanity door installation is an example of the obvious, overall lack of professionalism. This is not retaliation. This is an attempt to recoup the money i will need to spend to have the surround correctly installed & any consequential damage repaired.Business response

She had someone come in slap caulk around after us.
The.vanity was fine when we left.
The shower curtain is leaking.
Since someone else has been on the job after us we are done with this matter.

I am rejecting this response because:
The issue is that the surround is incorrectly installed. I will have to have it torn out and done correctly. Washburn came back at least three times to correct it with additional caulking. It did not fix the issue. I did have someone come to plaster over the gouges & flaws in the drywall & put on a second coat of paint. After that was done, Washburn came back, again, promising to fix the problem. They did not.
