My husband (*****************************) and I contracted ***** with MCH Landscaping and Stonework in June 2022 for a patio and propane gas fire pit setup at our property in *******, **. The job was completed with the exception of delivering the lava rocks for the fire pit, and we paid them in full in June 2022 (receipts attached). In October 2022, ***** delivered half of the lava rocks we paid for and we attempted to use the fire pit for the first time, at which time we discovered an issue with the gas propane set up. ***** was not able to make it out to fix the issue before winter, but did come out in May 2023, at which point he promised us in writing that he would be out to fix the fit pit by July 13, 2023, and if he could not, he would refund us the $1,760.00 we paid for the gas set up (communication attached). ***** never came out to fix the fire pit by July 13 and has ceased communications with us since. On July 19, we asked ***** refund us as he promised and mentioned that our next step was to file a complaint with the BBB if we could not resolve the issue between us (communication attached). We have attempted to contact him several times since and he has not responded as of today, August 14. If we receive the refund, we will consider the issue resolved with no further action required.Initial Complaint

Project toke way longer than it should have. March 2022 thru June 2022. When concrete was being torn up and laid there was nothing put up to protect my house. I have concrete splashes on 4 sides of my house, on windows and 2 doors. Also a poor built stoop made. The Town inspector said it was a horrible job. We paid up front which was our fault. We have contact ***** and ****** and no one will respond to us AFTER we were told all the repairs would be taken care of and or cleaned up, including being told if they had to repaint the house they would or replace the siding. I am extremely upset that they are not holding up their and of the bargain. I want either $1K back to have the siding repaired or they can keep their word and ************* everything as it should have been.Business response

The way **** and I communicated was via ********* I never intentionally did not answer ****. I want to make that clear. After **** was upset we were mostly communicating with her mom. We power washed the siding and the fence as requested. We also wrapped the concrete step pavers as well. I spent a little over $1000 to wrap the steps. After we were finished ****'s husband told us that he was fine with the work that was done and that he would tell **** that we did enough . However we did not get the okay from ****. We called Saras mom and even stopped by ****'s last year 2022 because we wanted to make sure that if we missed anything we could address the issue. However we were not able to get in contact with ****'s mom and she would not return our calls. I reached out one last time on March 3, 2023 to **** asking if she wanted a refund or if she wanted us to fix any issues. She said no to both. I have tried many times to reach out to fix any issues or this last time to give a refund however **** has declined.

I am rejecting this response because: I have concrete crumbling on the steps and have uneven and cracked pavers. As far as this so called refund. I repeatedly asked what amount and ***** would not answer me. He kept dodging the question. ***** said he doubted I wanted him to fix the issues which is correct because I do not want them back on my property.***** insisted I could reverse the negative BBB review and was unhappy that I had posted it. At this point I want nothing to do with this company and I have no intention of reversing my original complaint. As it took several attempts to even have them come back to try and fix all the issues in the first place. It seemed their newer jobs were more important to them. I hope this is the end of this entire fiasco.
