I received my bill with the wrong insurance information. We were sent directly to collections and were never once contacted by the company about the bill. I called my insurance only to find out that they never even made a claim through them. When I called the billing department at Fort Wayne Radiology, they put me on hold and then hung up on me, with no call back.Business response

In review of this claim, I saw ******* **** was listed as the insurance in the interface from the hospital. I have attached a copy of the patient demographic from Epic that we received I also confirmed with ********, patient later called them to update to ************. We filed a claim to ******* **** on 09162022. ******* **** denied claim ******** unable to ID patient. We billed patient ******** and ******** with no patient response. We turned account to ************ ******** due to no patient response. It appears patient paid ************ on 03/08/2023. Patient then contacted us on ******** @ 11:34:06am with the ************ information which will file out this evening. I will monitor this account for payment and if patient has any additional questions, may contact me directly @ **********.

I never received a bill from FWR to my knowledge, or the bill may have been sent to the wrong address. Anyways I never received a phone call from them regarding any charges that had not been paid and was immediately sent to a debt collection agency? That is a very poor excuse for customer service. This business made absolutely NO attempt whatsoever to reach out to me personally and I know that I am not the first person this has happened too. There are better ways to run a business and collect debts. I always pay my bills and FWR would have known that if they had made any effort to reach out versus sending me to a collection agency after NO effort of communication prior and affecting my credit score in the meantime. Absolutely disgusting. Honestly the business should be refunding me for the service.Business response

According to our records the initial statement was sent to ******************************************************** on October 9, 2022. The mail was never returned, therefore we had no indication ****** did not receive her statement. We then sent a second statement on November 24,2022. Again, the mail was never returned, and like before, we had no indication ****** did not receive the statement. Once the statements leave our possession, there is little we can do securing the patient receives the statement. Her charge was turned to ************ February 23,2023. I can assure ****** this should not appear on her credit report and if she finds differently, I can have any adverse credit reporting removed. ****** paid this March 1, 2023. As far as her request we call the patients before turning to collections. Our radiologists read for all the Parkview sites. The volume of charges that go to collections simply does not allow us to call on each patient. It would similar to expecting Parkview to contact each patient before sending account to collections. ****** would have also received and explanation of benefits from her ************** and did not reach out to us at any point. It is posted throughout Parkview facilities that we are the reading radiologists. I am sorry for the inconvenience this has caused.
