On July 3rd of 2021, ********************* and an assistant were hired to install retractable screens on our back porch. The final amount paid to **** was $17,500 for the screens and installation. He told us at that time that there may be maintenance needed on the screens moving forward and that we were to text him directly to fix the screens as needed. We had previously been on site to a home at which he was installing retractable screens in order to see his workmanship, which he told us he stands behind.Since then, we've attempted to contact **** to schedule routine maintenance on the screens as he described, yet **** either does not respond or responds with "Ok, I'll let you know when I can make it to your home" and then never responds with a day or time. This has now happened on multiple occasions, the latest being Jan 24th, 2023 due to our screens no longer being attached in their tracks. This was a very expensive purchase and we were told by **** (at the time he was under the business name of Retractable Screens of *******), and we expect **** to follow through with the maintenance as promised or provide us a refund for the screens that will need to be replaced by a different screen company. A current estimate is attached if we are needing to replace all of the screens **** installed. On November 4, 2021, ***************************, sole member of Screen 1 Services, LLC, came to my home to do measurements to screen in my front porch. He quoted a price of $2,000 and insisted on a deposit of $1,000 to order the materials. I tendered a check in that amount and the check cleared my bank account. Initially he represented that he could install the screen by early to mid-December. I kept in touch by phone and text and he kept promising he could meet that estimated date. I kept asking for updates and he kept telling me he had no news. Finally, after realizing I was getting the run-around, on January 7, 2022, I texted him and informed him that this was unacceptable and demanded a refund of my $1,000 deposit. He replied that he would get a check out to me within 2 weeks and that he was sorry his company could not provide the level of service I required. After a couple more text exchanges on 1/7, he told me he was blocking me on his phone. I never received a check. So, I texted him again on 1/18 and 1/25, but no replies. I also emailed him and eventually told him if I did not receive the check by Friday, 1/28, I would file a small claims complaint against him and report him to the BBB. He said that I am harassing him. Still no check. I do not believe he ever even ordered my materials. I believe ****** is a fraud. Today I found another lawsuit online filed against the *** and *************************** that mirrors the song and dance he played on me, and also accused him of fraudulent behavior and abuse of the corporate form. He defaulted on that lawsuit, so that tells me why he has nothing to lose when I *** him in ******* County Small Claims Court. This behavior is fraudulent and unconscionable.
