I helped facilitate a bathroom remodel for my 98-year-old Father. ******************************* of The Works Construction Company was paid $ ***** for the job. ******* walked off the job because we docked him $ 120 for ruined Mosaic tile that was left out in the rain. According to his crew leader, it was ruined and falling off the mesh. ******* installed a vanity light that was so low we couldn't open the medicine cabinet. He said he couldn't move it, so we also docked him $ 100 to pay the cost of another person moving the light. We thought ******* was in agreement with this arrangement and it is documented with texts and photos. ******* said there was a few things to finish, but when we gave him the agreed balance of $ *****, he walked off the job leaving the bathroom unfinished. As documented with more photos, ******* left our 98-year-old father with the following issues:He didn't clean up the construction site. There was debris on the floor that hadn't been vacuumed, there was " grout haze " left on all the tile and mirror, the walls to be painted were not prepped and there were holes in the walls that were never spackled, and just painted over. There was a 2" gap at the doorway because he didn't install a threshold. Dad is on a ******.He left an edge of the tile wall with no trim showing the rough edge and bar codes of tiles.Dad is on a ****** and with only one bathroom, we had to pay the cost of an Airbnb. We hired ******* because he said he could do the job in six days. It took him 15 days, the job is still unfinished. ******* has since told us he would finish the work for $ 500. ******* has ignored Angies List representatives' calls and emails to mediate the situation. If necessary, I would be happy to provide dozens of texts, photos, videos and contract. With regard to the age questions, I am 68 but the owner of the home and victim is 98.

To whom it may concern:  clearly you can see **************** started out with a lie in many strings of lies, first sentence said i was paid **** dollars then late states 6780,  we completely finished job and then he deducts money for tile he bought from goodwill that some were not good, the he had us re use a medicine cabinet from the ****s and HE PURCHASED a light the wouldnt work with that mirror simply told him go get a different light we will install he refused, i wasnt going to argue and agreed to be done just pay me which he did because we were finished,  he bought the materials and didnt buy a transition strip so obviously we didnt install it.... after he robbed me i wasnt going back unless paid in full plus extra he wanted done,  i explained to him once you cheat someone you cant ask them to return without payment.   NOBODY PAYS BEFORE JOB IS COMPLETE he paid me not the full amount of course and then cries wolf

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

Whereas just today I have received a notice from the *********** they are holding a letter that requires a signature; and whereas I won't be able to obtain that letter until next week; and whereas I believe it is likely a communication from ******************** and or a representative of The Works, I would humbly request an extension for a reply to your office until the end of the month.

I greatly appreciate your interest and follow ** in this matter.

      Regards,

      *************************

I honestly think this customer has a mental issue that keeps him from understanding that if you cheat someone that means you cant ask for anything after that point,  i have mailed him nothing and request this matter be closed
