I was able to get money from a friend to pay the mechanic $200 to come to my house and change out the thermostat on my car (8/4/24). That was the only thing wrong according to *********** I hired this company due to good reviews online and a decent price quoted. We communicated over text throughout the afternoon and they came over at 6pm and left by 8pm saying that they had replaced the component and we should be good. Yesterday(8/5/24), my husband and I were outside trying to figure out how we could drill screws into a ramp so I would be able to have my power wheelchair go up it in the trunk. We had the car running for the air conditioner. It wasn't long before the air got hot and then there was a fishy smell and then we got out of the car and there was a ton of coolant under the car. Like as if someone had spilled several big buckets under there. Then there was a clicking noise and we turned off the car so my husband helped me back into the apartment and then he went back to the car to move it to the handicapped spot again because we don't typically do work in that spot because there's always cars around. When he turned the key, the ignition would not start. My husband texted the company as soon as it happened and they said they would come last night (8/5/24). 9:00 pm rolls around and they're still not here so my husband asked if they can come tomorrow which is today (8/6/24). They said they would be here today (8/6/24) at 8:00 a.m.We got up early for them and then they hadn't shown up so I texted them and asked where they were. They said they'd be here closer to 10:00. 10:45 rolls around they're still not here. I had written a multiple texts and called and so did my husband. No response. I wrote them one more text saying if they're not here in 30 minutes or do not respond I would be contacting the Attorney general and looking for legal action. They never showed up nor did they respond.

      Hello,

Please see the attached document that includes the first four prices to examine what was broken on the car by the first mechanic (Indy's #1 Mobile Mechanic and Roadside Services)and to fix the issues they caused by not putting the thermostat on properly.

I absolutely would like to get my money back from them as well as the cost I have had to pay to this other mechanic. I have missed doctors appointments because of this and I am very chronically ill and it has been very costly and inconvenient.

Hello, I just got my car back from being fixed. These are photos of the thermostat that the mobile mechanic I'm complaining about put into my car. As you can see, it was extremely poorly sealed. I had to have the whole job done all over again plus the fee for the car to be looked over. I also wanted to tell you that the mechanic I used today to fix the car is willing to make a statement on our behalf.

Hello, I'm looking for an update on my complaint.

      Customer response

      09/09/2024

      Better Business Bureau:

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

While the company is taking some responsibility, they are only agreeing to refund my purchase partially.  I paid the company $200 for the repair and then had to take it to Best One of Indy for an inspection and repair because the original company would not respond to my messages.  They had their read receipts on so I know that they got them and I have proof.  Best One of Indy encouraged me to file a small claims lawsuit because they said that the job was done very unprofessionally and could have caused more damage or even an accident.  For these reasons, I will not settle for any less than $451.22 that I had to pay to both companies in order the rectify the entire situation.  It would be really nice if the company would be cooperative so we can keep this out of the court system but I am not unprepared for court if it comes to that.

      Regards,

on August 4th 2024 We were contacted by ****** to do a thermostat replacement on a 2000 ****** Sienna. We arrived at the job around 6:00 p.m. And met with the husband ****. We finished the job around 8 pm and told **** it's suggested cure time for the gasket maker is 1 day / 24 hours. The next day my ****** business gets two five star reviews around 2 pm from **** and ******. Later that same day both **** and ****** contacted the company stating what's observed in the text messages. Unfortunately We scheduled An appointment with them and was unable to keep that time. We are a small mobile mechanic company that offers 24 hour services and unfortunately we was on a job for majority of that morning due to unforseen circumstances. We were exhausted and had to get sleep and by the time I seen Her text message it was well after The time she said she would get a hold of a state General so I just left it at that. There has been a complaint file with the BBB which I tried to resolve and offer partial refund which is what I'm still offering At this time I will give her $187 which is what was paid for labor.

I have reviewed the response made by the business in reference to complaint ID ********, and have determined the response would not resolve my complaint.  For your reference, details of the offer I reviewed appear below.

I am requiring a full refund plus what I had to pay to have the car inspected after it was damaged due to their negligence:

$200 to cover the costs we paid directly to the company

$129 to cover the diagnostic labor by the mechanic who actually fixed the issue.

This would bring the total to $329.  I will not accept any less.  If the company rejects this offer, I will be taking them to small claims court, as encouraged by my mechanic and I will be suing for the total of the repair as well as legal fees.  I suggest that the company take my offer to avoid spending more on legal fees and the amount of money I will be suing them for the repair.

I did not have a car for 10 days.  I am disabled and couldn't use a bus and accessible **** and lyft are not available in this city yet.  I had to miss a doctor's appointment I waited months for over this.

The company was very unprofessional and did not show up to three different appointments that were set and were not communicating with us at all.

      Regards,
