This happened 10/10/2023 They broke my speed sensor while replacing the wheel bearing. Even unseated the ball joint. They don't even want to replace it for free.Business response

The customer was told that the part was already broken. Was told this multiple times and did not listen. We also offered to fix if they brought us the part but they denied. There was no damage to the ball joint this is a lie.Customer response

I brought my car to Lopez auto shop for a timing chain replacement. I never signed any documents but we did verbally agree to the price of 900 dollars. I texted him consistently asking for update on my car. He eventually texted me telling me that he cant find the right chain for the car and gave me two options. One option was to fix the whole engine which would go over my budget by a lot, or to just put the old one back on. I told him to put the old one back on. He then told me that they would charge me the same and I never agreed to that price I actually never said anything about the price at all. A few days later I texted him saying that Im not okay with that price. He then told me that they had already put my car back together and it was ready to be picked up. Me and my father came to the shop trying to ask for a lower price. We asked If 500 was a good price he denied. He was trying to say 800 but that still is too high for something that isnt fixed. I got input of multiple people and everyone said that I shouldnt pay a dime for that because it was not my fault or had anything to do with me and that it was his fault. So Im contacting you guys in hopes of helping me get my vehicle out of the shop without paying for the timing chain replacement job that was a failure.Business response

We are writing in response to the complaint ID #********.
************** brought vehicle to our shop and requested we replace his timing chain. We sent him a text August 1st, explaining pricing. $900 labor + $295 parts. Total of $1195. We started work after he agreed to this. Unfortunately, we had to search in many places to find the timing chain for his vehicle. The timing chain was then ordered from the ***** Dealership. The timing chain provided from ***** Dealership was not correct. It did not fit *******'s vehicle. ***** could not provide the correct timing chain. Once this was discovered we asked ******* to come to the Lopez Shop. At this time the situation was explained to him. We explained ***** dealership can not provide the part needed and we could replace his engine, or assemble the vehicle back together. He was also made aware at this time that he would be charged $900 for labor and time already invested by our shop and team. He agreed. We assembled his vehicle back together, and he paid $900 for labor and time. He has picked up his vehicle from our shop.
