On Monday, December 18, 2023 at approximately 2pm, I was leaving the ******************** and as I was driving, a Circle City Outdoor driver turned on his salt machine and the side of my vehicle was hit at close range with hard salt rocks. The rocks also hit two ladys who were passing by. I tried to get the drivers attention, but he smiled and sped off out of the parking lot. I called the company and left a message. A few minutes later, I received a call from a blocked number. The man in the other end said he worked for the company but refused to give me his name. He said that what I described didnt happen. I have small dents in my vehicle no from the salt hitting my vehicle at close range and the company representative made it seem like it was my fault. Not only have I been disrespected by this company, but now my car is damaged as well.

We received her complaint and I was the driver salting the parking lot that day. In the parking lot, I rolled down my window and she was cussing and me waving her hand and I am not a confrontational person so I rolled up window and didn't speed off I went and did the entrance / exit road by ************* and then re-entered the mall property to do Panera Bread, the area by the library behind Target. She got a phone call from a personal cell phone number therefore it was blocked, she basically on the phone said the exact same thing described here on her complaint. She was asked during the phone call about the 2 people walking if they were injured from being hit by salt falling out of a spreader? She said you are being a smart ***, I said I am more worried about a person than a property that can be replaced, she said she had no idea but they appeared to be fine and ok. I said that is good news, she goes well my car isn't the roof and hood and sides are all damaged. She was then asked if the same salt that hit supposidly hit the 2 people didn't cause issues but it damaged the metal on your car? Just trying to understand where she is coming from, with her complaint. She then said I can see you aren't giving into this and its not going anywhere, I said I'm just trying to understand what you are complaining about. I also said if I were to get hit with a snowball in the face it would hurt, but if the snowball was thrown and hit a car, the car would be ok. Just as if I get hit with a hammer its going to hurt me, and if you hit a car with a hammer its gonna hurt the car as well. So the salt the same salt hit 2 people but they are ok, but your car isn't, please make it make sense is what I'm thinking. She said this isn't going anywhere and I am going to my lawyer and cussed again and hung up. I was just trying to understand what she was complaining or claiming happened.

We as a company service over 200 properties for snow and ice management and have been in the business for over 20 years and we know that salt trucks, just like the ones you pass on the road don't damage sides, hoods and roofs of cars or cause damage to pedestrains on the side of the street which is what she's claiming. I said just as if you passed a salt truck on the city street or the the highway you'll hear the sound of the salt pieces hitting your vehicle but it doesn't damage anything. We wait for pedistrains to pass and don't purposely put salt on passing people or cars in her instance but they do spray but they don't cause any damages and this is what was said to her. Being in this business for 20 years I've personally passed from behind or from the side ******************** and ******* ********** of ************** trucks and been sprayed with salt and never damaged my vehicles. Not sure what she's asking us to do but there is no way we damaged her vehicle and I also didn't get to tell her this but was going to suggest she get a police report and report the damage to them as well but couldn't do this because she hung up on me. Also we own and operate heavy dump trucking trucks and get blamed frequently for rocks hitting windshields that aren't coming out of the tarpped dump trucks but are thrown up by tires and in dealing with these for years have I ever dealt with someone as rude as she was on the phone.
