      I had to unfortunately put my 16-year-old blind dog to sleep urgently due to his back legs giving out on him on Nov 9th, 2023. My vet couldn't get me in that day, so I decided to go to ******************** side. I am leaving a 2 star (it would be lower) only because of the professionalism and how well they handled Bill (my dog) and how gentle and caring they was with him during the whole process. However, I selected a private cremation and to get his ashes returned. I was told it would be 4 to 6 weeks. After calling 13 times over the next two months, I finally was told my worst fear is true and they had lost ****'s ashes. I was told all ****'s go through ********** (***************.) and that they had told ****'s they do not know where his ashes are and that they are lost. I had another follow up call with the director from ****'s confirming I will not be getting them back. My heart is completely shattered with regret going through them. **** was more than a dog; he was my 16-year-old blind majestic old man. He was my child, and I am sickened by this. I lay in bed every night after my family goes to sleep and just wonder where he is at and just cry in pain. I do not want anyone to have to go through this!

      *********...losing a pet is very difficult, but I can't imagine how devastated you must be at this point. I do appreciate that you noted the professionalism of our *************************************** team during this tough time and I am so sorry that you are having to deal with this situation. I know that ***************** Practice Manager has already refunded the cost of the private cremation to you and that the two of you are working to see if there are any other memorial items that we can provide to help ease some of the distress you are feeling.While our hospitals do use Pet Heaven primarily as our cremation service, I am saddened to think that the veterinary team is getting a poor review when their actions were compassionate and caring during this time. We have used Pet Heaven for more than 2 decades and generally have a very positive relationship with them. It is unfortunate that **** was cremated in a group cremation which means that we can't get his ashes back, but our veterinary team doesn't have an impact on that. I just hate to see the team getting negative feedback when their actions were kind, helpful, and professional.
