I took my 2012 RAV4 to get an oil change on 11/01/2021. The car started to have a rough idol and I was able to get it into ********* on 12/12/2021 to be looked at. They informed me the oil dipstick was dry and the drain plug for the oil was finger loose and oil was around the drain plug. They advised me to take my car to ****** to have an engine diagnostic ran to see if any damage was done to the engine. I contacted Quicklube and told them what was going on and the manager of the location offered me a free oil change. He said if that wasnt satisfactory, I could call **** at their corporate location to see if anything could be done. I called and left a message with *****, giving her all the information I had. A diagnostic was ran at *************************************** on 12/14/2021. They said everything seemed fine, but since ********* performed an oil change they wouldnt know if any lasting damage had been done until the next oil change. I drove my car to and from ************ for work Monday through Friday and returned to ********************* for an oil change on 01/19/2022. At this point I had still not heard from **** at Quicklube. When I took my car in I let the service technician know the rough idol had returned the previous day. When they went to perform the oil change they found the engine had only 1.5 Qts of oil in it, and when drained, the oil had metal in it as well as metal in the air filter. I was told the engine would need to be replaced to fix it. Since I had not heard from ****, I called back with the updated information. I spoke with ***** on 01/19/2022 and she had me email all of my invoices from the visit with ********* and the ones with *********************. She informed me that she would give **** the information and that he was going to call and talk to ********************* and call me back. He called back on 01/24/2022 informing me that there was not enough evidence that the fault was theirs and he would not submit the paperwork to his insurance.
