R&R Asphalt was contracted to asphalt our driveway at the end of 2021. Both parties agreed that work would not be completed until after the winter thaw and the ground had an opportunity to dry. On March 17, 2022 R&R arrived to complete driveway, much earlier then what was mutually agreed upon as the ground was still wet from the winter thaw. After a couple hours of completing the work, R&R got their skid steer stuck in the driveway, which proves that the ground was saturated causing them to get stuck. R&R got their equipment unstuck and then continued with the asphalting of the driveway. Because the driveway was still saturated, an additional load of stone was needed by R&R to act as filler and firm the base of the driveway. R&R then began to apply the asphalt ********, backing their dump trucks across the stone they had laid for base leaving large ruts to add asphalt to their applicator. R&R then laid the asphalt ******** directly over the ruts/grooves their dump trucks had made in the driveway/stone thus leaving soft spots throughout the driveway. 8-9 phone calls have been made to R&R since March 17th to which R&R returned responded to a couple of calls, promising repairs and customer satisfaction however, the repairs have not been made and R&R has failed to communicate further regarding if and when repairs will be made. R&R has ceased taking phone calls and will not return communication made when we inquire on a timeframe and process to remedy defective driveway. R&R Asphalt was paid in full the agreed contracted price of $6500 plus additional costs they incurred when completing driveway to early in the season. Additional costs incurred were $700 for the load of stone and application to level the driveway for a total cost paid of $7200 to R&R Asphalt.
