I stopped at a local bar and grill to pick up food, when I was illegally spotted and towed within 30 minutes of my arrival. The tow company did not have any written approval from a property owner to tow my car within that short amount of time. They used a spotter and simply picked my car up. I was also charged for two days of storage and a total of $282 in fees. They held my car for less than 12 hours. This is absolutely fraudulent.

      ****** ******** ****** ** ********

We’ve reviewed your complaint and found that your vehicle was parked on private property that does not belong to the bar. Furthermore, your vehicle was parked directly in front of one of the twenty-four Tow Away Zone signs on that lot.

Examining your invoice in detail shows one column that indicates we held the vehicle for two calendar days which is true conversely if you look at the charge line for storage you find that you were only charged for one day.
We do not use “spotters” on this, or any other property and we do have written permission from the owner to tow from the lot behind the bar.

I am rejecting this response because:
If there is written proof to tow, it needs to be provided.

December 7,2021 my ford f250 was towed from a private property while I was present and refused to leave my vehicle and was told if I gave an address he would take it there .the house was literally 4blocks and was charging me 200$.my friend that was at the address only had 100$ and refused to leave it.i didn't call the tow company the property owner did but told the tow truck driver I was paying the bill but wouldn't take my truck off the tow truck where I was standing. If I'm paying the bill I should have say in where it's going. He proceeded to take it to the lot and with in a couple hrs the bill was up to 400$.it had all my tools worth 1000's of dollars not including how much money I've put into it.my only transportation to work and the whole time the driver of the tow truck was very aggressive and taunting keep cussing at me.

      *****,
On 12/17/21 the owner of ***** * asked us to recover and remove a truck that had crashed thru the wall of his building and into a guest room.

      **************************************************************************

Our driver removed the truck from the building and had it loaded on his flatbed when you arrived and identified yourself as the owner.  You immediately started screaming and yelling at him for doing his job and that got you nowhere.
After things calmed down you asked our driver to tow your truck to an address on Rosehill Road in Lenexa.  You and our driver agreed to a flat fee of $200 and you said there would be someone at that address who would pay the charges.
Upon arrival at the Rosehill address there was nobody present that was willing to pay. You were not there for some reason, so at this point all deals are off and our driver was instructed by his management to tow the truck to our storage facility.
When a vehicle gets impounded at our facility there is a towing charge and storage fees that accrue daily. These charges are not the same as the $200 deal our driver was trying to give you.
Now, thirty days later, you have received a notice that your truck is going to be sold at auction and your shocked at the fee’s that have accumulated.    Your unhappy and file a complaint to the BBB with the hope that it will make us to feel pressured to meet your demands to return everything for free.
Your situation could have been easily avoided had you arranged for someone to pay our driver per your agreement on the day this happened.

I didn't call them,I was there on sight. Driver was charging me 200$ for hook up when all other tow companies charge 75$....I didn't even have a chance to get my personal belongings.driver was very combative and was doing everything he could for me not to have my truck.i was not the calling party.i was under the assumption he was only removing the truck from the building.ive been putting a lot of money into that truck brand new tires.i shouldn't have to pay for storage or tow.i offered the driver a 100$ for taking it 4 blocks from where we were and I had a friend there with the money.
