My name is Stacy B******. I have been a member at the Cass St location in Omaha since before it was 24 hour Fitness. Unfortunately this club has been poorly managed regardless of who the club manager is that month or year. I'm exhausted with trying to speak with staff and participating in surveys to get assistance with the safety and sanitation at this location. From a leadership perspective it appears that there is a culture that is not customer focused or has pride in the positions that individuals are hired to do. There is also a clear respect for the guests based on the lack of safety and sanitation. This club is in violation of several Omaha City Codes daily specific to the pool and locker room areas. I have filed complaints there too which I assume resulted in temporary efforts to address this issue only to resort back to unacceptable conditions for paying members and guests. Today I took a video of the womens locker room area. There does not appear to be an option to attach this documentation here however i am certain it would me unacceptable and does not meet the standard for the experience that Rodney Steven's wants his members to have. I will continue documenting these conditions until someone who cares does something about it.Review from JACKIE G

On 11/2/24 I went into Genesis Health Club on 132nd & Center. I need to cancel my membership because I got accepted to nursing school and am moving. The person who needed to help me never came over and kept messing with the remote control and the tv's in the lobby. I started recording him. Eventually I got uncomfortable and left. I was worried how he was going to treat me after he just spent all that time ignoring me. I didn't know if he was going to be rude to me, arrogant, or what. I just knew when he eventually decided to acknowledge and help me that it would be so uncomfortable it wasn't worth it. So I left and now I have to go to a different location and hopefully they will help me.Review from Jacqueline K

Predatory business practices. They ignored cancellation requests repeatedly, trapping you in payment plans. No one answers the phone or gets back to you. They do everything they can to keep you paying.Review from Collin W

Do not use this Gym. All they care about is taking your money. My girlfriend asked her trainer to cancel her membership and after he said he would, they continued to charge her account last month and again this month because they failed to tell her that she had to cancel it herself online and read the fine print. Even after getting Dave Butto(regional manager) involved and she explained they fraudulently stole her money from her account to which he said if there was nothing in writing that he couldn't do anything to refund HER money. They straight up stole her money from her account and Dave did absolutely nothing to refund it. All he did was use lawyer talk to essentially say its a "he said, she said" case and that he couldn't do anything. ALL they care about is taking your money. DO NOT USE GENESIS HEALTH CLUB. If you ever have this problem I suggest immediately calling your bank to dispute the charge as FRAUDULENT and get them to fight the charge for you because Genesis will do nothing about it.Genesis Health Clubs Response

The customer was an active PT client. She was made aware ahead of time that she could cancel her PT on her member portal on month 3 as she had reached out to cancel prior to the expiration of the agreement. As a customer service, her final month was pushed out for personal reasons, extending her agreement out one more month. She had all the information and abilities to cancel her PT subscription once the final package of PT processed. She could have cancelled before the end of the calendar month to avoid billing the following month. Only the member has access to their member portal.Review from Ben C

Charged me a full month fee PLUS $10/month to "pause" my membership for a last minute 4-week business trip - minimum 2 months. So I would pay a full month PLUS $20 so that I can NOT use your gym? They require 30 days notice before you pause your membership - just predatory. "But you agreed to it in your contract!" Despicable. As a business owner myself I would never treat my customers this way. But our business doesn't prey on college students and the poor. Genesis, you've made a life-long enemy today. Got a 7 day trail. Can in on day 3 and I was told by the manager if I didn’t pay for a membership I’d need to workout outside and she laughed afterwards. After I drove 29 min out of my way to try ou this genesis.Review from Myra T

Genesis Health Club is Salina, Ks has the best front desk staff that I have seen in a while. Carmen and her staff do an excellent job at making their members and guests feel welcome. Very kind and courteous behavior and this makes you want to come back. I have been tanning there for a few years and have always had great service. Genesis has my vote. Genesis health club charged a monthly fee for an unused gym membership and refused to allow an out. They then sued and went after a family for the money they were not entitled to. They’re management is terrible and self centered people.Genesis Health Clubs Response

-South Des Moines Location- I have been complaining about cleanliness, broken machines and the pool’s condition since I started. I have asked for a downgrade from a family plan to an individual one, they won’t unless I physically go in and sign. I should not have to take time out of my day to go there because of their negligence. Why are they not updated to 2013 with electronic signatures?? I don’t feel comfortable brining my daughter to the childcare. It is dirty and supervised by someone who sat on their phone the whole time in a room full toddlers and Barbie pieces. My 7 year old said she had to keep taking Barbie pieces from the toddlers so they wouldn’t choke. WHY WAS THE ADULT NOT WATCHING THIS?! The pool is absolutely horrendous, there are kids unsupervised, the water is extremely salty from sweat and the water smells like body odor, the showers and toilets are filthy, machines are constantly broken or not working properly and the building aesthetic is awful! Paint is chipped and peeling, everything is outdated and cobwebs in the corners. I absolutely regret ever signing up for this place, because I ultimately had to find other places to work out while I am still paying for Genesis. We will see if I have issues when my contract is up. Save yourself the time, trouble and money. Don’t come here. There were much better ways I could have spend $1300 this year.Review from Shannan L

Way to hot in the clubs.Air conditioners do not work .And equipment is always broke.Save your money and join another gym.They do not care about their memebers and our concerns.
