I believe my car windows were tinted sometime between fall of 2020 and summer of 2021. Quality as tinted several of my cars in the past, and I have never had any problems. I actually have sent other people to them. This time however, I called them back right after the tinting was done, and ask about the scratch marks in the film at the bottom of the driver side windshield. He told me that it would go away with time. It never did. Now when depending how the sun is shining there is a hazy, dirty, foggy look in the film. I took it to them and he told me that he could not see it. The sun was not shining on it at the time. I have tried everything to clean it, both the inside and the outside, as was suggested by Quality. He also told me that it could be because of the slant of the window that was causing it. I have since talk to another person that dealt with them that had the same problem. Obviously, there is an issue with the brand of film that they are using, and they know it. I called them back again about 2 months ago to get the name of the manufacturer to see if they would help me. They apparently only deal with the companies that use the product. I did fill in the on-line contact info but they have not responded back. I would like for Quality to refund my cost. I have to have the window re-tinted somewhere else that does not use Llmar products. This is a hazard while driving and it is continuing to get worse. Unfortunately, I do not have the receipt, I never had problems with them in the past and did not expect to this time either.Business response

I’m sorry that you seem to have an issue that comes and goes depending on the time of year or time of day. You have Air 80 on the windshield. That is a film with a nano ceramic layer. It could have certain angles that briefly looks like a slight shine on the window. As far as being un safe to drive or being bothersome, although you mention in your complaint that someone else had the same issue, I have not had anyone have that issue. Film is made in batches, that roll of film is on an employees windshield and he has never had that issue. You had brought the vehicle to me to look to see if I saw the issue. It was a sunny day, but I could not get the same angle on the windshield from the sun to produce that issue. It is closing in on about 3 years that you have had this product installed and had a lot of opportunity to show me this issue. LLumar does not have a recall and I reached out to the representative there to see if he has heard of the product having any issues from that batch. He said there was no recall on that batch for any issues at all. I can not replace the product when I do not see the issue you are having in the first place. If it was a constant issue I do not understand why after nearly three years you are now asking for a refund and have a complaint about what you claim to be a scratched film, which if it was a damaged film would be replaced or if something did not cure correctly, that would also be replaced. Since in the near three years you have had this product on your vehicle and you have not been able to show me the issue, there is no recall on the product from the manufacturer, and this type of product can not be returned and resold. We will not be offering any refund. If you are able to show me the issue with your particular piece of film, then i can replace it under warranty provided by the manufacturer.Customer response

First time I contacted them was about the Scratches in the film. I think Spring of 2021. Second time was about the dirty looking film was Summer of 2022 and then took it to them to see about 1 month later. There is another company that I took my car to and as soon as they seen the scratches in the film he knew immediately that it was caused from the equipment that is used to put the film on.
I do not accept the response from Quality. At the time I contacted them, the tinting has only been on my car for 1 to 1 ½ years. Since I purchased it in November of 2020, it would be impossible for me to have had the tinting any longer than that. I did contact him the week after it was tinted about the scratches in the film and in the summer of 2022 about the dirty look when driving in the sun. It like your house windows. They could be dirty, but until the sun shines in at a certain time of day you don’t see it. For Quality to be able to see this, they would have to drive it. As far as the other person that told me they had the same problem, I don’t think I am allowed to put their personal info here. It is going to cost me $60 to have the tinting removed. I would like for them to at least pay that. And NO, I will not allow Quality to remove it.
